SYNOPSIS:
The Organizational Development Specialist – Competency-focused will be responsible for developing and implementing competency models throughout the organization. The specialist will support programs and company strategies and culture related to organization structure and workforce development. The Specialist will ensure that projects, programs and processes are aligned with the needs of the organization and key business strategies.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Leads the HR process of creation of competency models and career progression. 
•Works with department leadership to determine organization structure. 
•Performs job analysis to collect data to build competency models. 
•Analyzes data to integrate into modeling process. 
•Builds competency models to align skills, behaviors and business goals. 
•Creates job descriptions, performance matrix, performance reviews, development plans, performance plans, and other required documentation needed to support competency model. 
•Submits performance matrix to HR Compensation so that salary bands can be determined. 
•Works with employees on development plans for career mobility. 
•Works with management to conduct needs analysis to determine organizational needs, as it relates to key strategies and business change. 
•Continuous maintains competency models based on new positions and organizational realignment. 
•Works closely with training team to ensure that training programs align with competency models. 
•Identifies and evaluates business initiatives to ensure alignment with business strategy. 
•Participates in meeting, seminars, and training sessions to obtain information useful to develop and facilitate training programs and organization development opportunities. 
•Assists with the design and delivery of training delivered to meet organization goals. 
•Facilitates meetings and workshops as requested. 
•Works with the Director of Organization Development and training specialists on e-learning initiatives company wide 
•Identifies data sources, benchmarks, and performance targets for organization programs 
•Assists with community and educational outreach initiatives

Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources, psychology or training and education 
•Minimum of 1 – 3 years of business work experience, at least 1 year of experience performing needs assessment and/or competency modeling. 
•Must be able to work autonomously with little supervision 
•Strong project management skills requirements. 
•Ability to handle projects at one time. 
•Strong communication skills both written and verbal 
•Ability to develop collaborative relationships 
•Must be well organized; able to manage multiple projects, set priorities and meet deadlines 
•Must be able to effectively interact with personnel from all departments and levels within the organization 
•Demonstrate good judgment, and ability to issue directives 
•Ability to travel as required.
