VCU Health System's Human Resources department is seeking an Operations Manager of Shared Services to manage the HR4U Solutions Center. The HR4U Solution Center serves as the key resource for all HR-related activities for VCU Health System. The Operations Manager position is responsible for creating and executing a clear strategy guided by organizational goals and priorities to achieve desired outcomes. This position will partner with key stakeholders to optimize processes and initiatives to ensure the highest quality services are provided consistently to all customers. Leads the Solutions Center's response to organizational goals by building and maintaining capability of growth and continued process improvement.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Holds team members accountable for meeting department, team and individual performance expectations.
  • Effectively manages core components of projects including work plan, stakeholder management, and delegation to team members to develop the capability of the overall team.
  • Works as a change agent resulting in strategically influenced and creative solutions.
  • Works collaboratively with leadership and key stakeholders across the organization to determine priorities and develop solutions that enhance services delivered.
  • Promotes a positive and productive work environment.
  • Identifies developmental needs for staff and supports training and development initiatives that help to close performance gaps
  • Provides staff with regular communications about any changes to work expectations, changes in procedures and overall department priorities
  • Leads the design, development, and communication of ongoing metrics, reports, and analyses to identify opportunities for improvement and to drive key decisions that help to meet objectives.
  • Consults with and advises department leadership on strategic direction and resource requirements.
  • Works with process experts and team leads to identify and implement process and technology improvements to enhance and maximize functional effectiveness.
  • Manages problem resolution through collaboration and consultation with key stakeholders
  • Ensures that all processes are appropriately standardized and streamlined and performed according to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Develops, delivers and updates training inside the Solutions Center
  • Collaborates with Director of Operations to set operational goals for department, identify and establish team members' goals and expectations.
  • Ensures staff is performing duties within Departmental policies and governmental regulations and holds them accountable when they do not.
  • Provides input into the annual budget recommendations and operates to budget.
  • Monitors operating expenses (e.g., overtime, use of temporary staff, vacancies, budget, tracking expenses, authorizing payment on payables, etc.

Requirements

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or close related field from an accredited program
  • Six Sigma or Lean prepared
  • 5 years of progressive exempt level experience in HR Operations
  • 3 years of experience shared service environment using and configuring technology (e.g., ServiceNow, Neocase)

Preferred

  • Six Sigma, Certified Black Belt
  • Project Management Certification
  • Previous HR experience in healthcare environment
