The National Manager of Talent Development reports to the AVP of Talent Development and is responsible for developing practical learning and employee development solutions and implementing them in collaboration with the People Business Partners and the business. This position is a hands-on working manager role, with responsibility to help the Talent team build and evolve an organization development function and its services.


Work closely with all functions of JDRF’s People Team to design learning solutions that align with the business needs and JDRF’s 3 -year Learning & Development strategy.
Ensure all learning solutions are high quality, efficient, consistent, cost-leveraged and seamlessly integrated.
Execute learning solutions that support culture change, as it evolves from a performance appraisal-based culture to a continuous-coaching-and-feedback performance model.
Own the JDRF Learning Management System and partner across the organization to ensure all learning on the platform is current and accessible to all learners.
Partner with external vendors as needed to ensure effective and timely delivery of learning solutions.
Develop and manage a best-in-class leadership competency model for JDRF, with a focus on incorporating established non-profit and development competencies.
Regularly evaluate implemented programs, to ensure fit for purpose, consistency and quality are being delivered. Gain feedback, track themes and make changes to solutions as needed.
Manage Talent metrics and scorecards and remain accountable for measurement and reporting of the scorecard.


Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
B.S or B.A. degree required; Master’s degree in related field a plus.
Strong preference for a degree in Organizational Effectiveness/Development or similar field of study.
Certifications in some of these specialty areas a plus.
Proven experience in the project management of multiple projects simultaneously and implementation of large-scale initiatives with scalability requirements.
Hands-on experience and expertise with formal change management, performance management, career management tools, employee engagement surveys, high performance team development, talent assessment instruments, and development plan work.
Ability to apply a systematic approach to the implementation of organizational effectiveness solutions that considers competing priorities, resource constraints and anticipated business changes and needs.
Ability to synthesize and analyze data and present in a cohesive, concise manner.
Demonstrated ability to be agile, build relationships, influence and gain commitment of internal business partners and key stakeholders with the ability to effectively provide guidance, drive change and produce results through others.
Thorough knowledge and experience with adult learning theory and techniques, systematic assessment, development, competency modeling, evaluation theory and processes, and best practice organizational effectiveness methodologies and technologies.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; good facilitation skills; and experience facilitating
Strong organizational skills and a high attention to detail.
Demonstrated alignment with JDRF’s principal values – passionate, innovate, collaborate, respectful, trustworthy, appreciative and results-oriented.
Proficiency of MS Office suite, project planners and desktop publishing applications.
Ability to travel approximately 20 - 30% within the country, as needed.
