This position is responsible for leading and developing programs and processes for the Distribution Center and Fulfillment Center and Sales Center for Things Remembered. Establish and manage creative recruitment, retention and recognition programs that will help build the bench strength and support the business initiatives. Key areas of responsibility include recruitment, compensation, employee relations, workers compensation, transitional work programs, performance management/ development, communication and recognition. This position works collaboratively with Home Office departments and DC/FC/SC leadership to support strategies.

 

Duties and Responsibilities (*Essential Functions)

  1. *Ensure the timely and quality hiring for vacant and new positions based on defined position profiles.

  2. *Establish creative methods and techniques for sourcing candidates. This includes referrals, college recruitment, job fairs, Internet, and networking.

  3. *Establish, communicate and maintain a structured process, including steps to take, defined individual responsibilities and supporting tools, checklists, etc., to clarify roles in the recruitment process; to include full use of the Company’s ATS.

  4. *Establish and manage process to forecast, plan, and monitor recruitment needs.

  5. Manage recruitment budget.

  6. *Develop formal process to effectively plan and forecast hiring needs (base, second season and holiday seasonal staffing needs).

  7. *Establish retention goals and report turnover.

  8. *Manage the year-end merit increase process; ensuring merit recommendations are equitable across all functions.

  9. *Communicate the annual incentive plans and, in partnership with the Payroll Manager, coordinate the annual payouts.

  10. *Manages workers compensation program.

  11. *Provide guidance and direction to associates and management to ensure all associates are treated fairly and provided a safe working environment.

  12. *Manages transitional work program.

  13. *Leads a result driven culture and employee engagement.

  14. *Lead all employees through high visibility.

  15. *Ensure timely and fair resolution of employee issues.

  16. *Partner with HR Director, DC/FC/SC leadership and/or legal counsel on “sensitive” issues and terminations.

  17. *Assist managers in the documentation and coaching of performance improvement plans.

  18. *Identify training needs and work with Manager, Organizational Development to create and conduct programs that address needs.

  19. *Directly supervise Seasonal Recruiting Team at Fulfillment Center.

  20. *Oversee staff in running DC/FC enrichment activities.

  21. *Lead and manage the year-end and mid-year review process ensuring associates are objectively evaluated based on results achieved to defined objectives.

  22. *Ensure job descriptions are kept current for all associates.

  23. *Manage the goal setting process for all positions, ensuring goals are clearly defined, realistic and aligned with the business objectives.

  24. Managing the orientation process, ensuring all associates are provided a thorough orientation and have a clear understanding of the company initiatives and their role in supporting them.

  25. *Developing and publishing policies, booklets, handbooks, etc. to clarify company directives, procedures and programs.

  26. Identifying programs and processes to improve communication within the distribution center.

  27. Keeping existing recognition programs alive and identify additional programs to recognize and reward strong performance.

  28. Marketing Company Benefit programs to associates.

  29. Partnering with Leadership Team to develop and support Lead/Leads-in-Training Programs.

  2. Proven track record in utilizing creative recruitment techniques and measurement of results.

  3. Ability to work effectively with all levels in the organization.

  4. Strong organization, planning and follow through skills.

  5. Team player.

  6. Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities.

  7. Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  8. Has high energy level.

Education and Experience

  1. Bachelors’ degree.

  2. 5-7 years experience in an HR Generalist role

  3. Demonstrated progression to roles of increasing responsibility
