 Position Title:Manager-Human Resources

Location: Mogadore, OH

Reports to: HR Director Supply Chain-Food

 

Job Summary:

The Manager-Human Resources, reports to the Director, HR Supply Chain and is a key leader to our supply chain management team. This position leads the local HR team in supporting manufacturing and distribution facilities in Mogadore, Akron and Kent, Ohio, with an employee population of 950. The HR Manager will partner and collaborate with the local operations and HR teams to drive a broad range of human capital and business initiatives aimed at driving a culture of empowerment, continuous improvement and professional and organizational growth.

 

Job Duties:

  • Act as a business partner to managers across the organization. Learn the business to coach and support teams, managers and supervisors for success
  • Manage employee performance and development planning cycle to include annual and mid-year reviews, manager feedback, coaching and facilitation of performance management training
  • Responsible for tracking and reporting metrics
  • Provide coaching and support to site managers and supervisors to address performance issues, provide guidance and assist with development and delivery of appropriate feedback and/or action
  • Drive ongoing improvements in the areas of employee relations, engagement, training, recruiting, policy administration, compensation, organizational development and change management, etc.
  • Work with Newell HR leadership teams to identify and share best practices among all locations
  • Work with HR and plant leadership teams to implement corporate initiatives
  • Collaborate with Safety teams to drive safety awareness and engagement
  • Participate in weekly and monthly operations and safety reviews, executive visits and guest events
  • Lead, learn, and teach a positive work culture through associate engagement, communication and activities

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment, as an HR professional with increasing levels of responsibility
  • Previous experience in managing a team
  • Experience with the core aspects of HR management including but not limited to employee relations, leadership development, workforce planning, performance management and team building
  • PHR/SPHR certification preferred
  • Ability to support and lead professional growth and development within the business
  • Proven leadership, coaching, relationship building and effective conflict resolution skills
  • Strong business acumen, communication and presentation skills
  • The ability to effectively integrate into an existing leadership team; proactive leadership with strong follow-up skills
  • Experience with change management
  • Demonstrated experience in project planning; ability to plan and organize with shifting priorities
  • Ability to influence and provoke thought
  • Experience in developing and mentoring talent
