Title:                     Manager – Employee Recruitment and Relations

 

 

 

POSITION SUMMARY

 

Leading Communications Consulting firm headquartered in Greenbelt, Maryland, with approximately 100 professional employees in multiple locations, is searching for a Manager – Employee Recruitment and Relations. The firm specializes in Financial, Regulatory, Business Management, and other services to Communications Companies. This position will report to the Executive Vice President of the firm.

 

This position is responsible for managing the talent acquisition functions and employee relations for the firm. Duties include developing and implementing recruitment plans that align with department needs and the firm’s strategic goals. In addition, responsibilities include: employee relations, training and development, Human Resource Information System, and benefits management.   Oversees the Office Support department, building operations and supervises the Receptionist/Administrative Assistant. Performs a variety of assignments in the areas of wage and salary administration, employee training, job evaluation, employment matters and special projects where evaluation, confidentiality and ingenuity are required.

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

 

1)          Leads recruiting efforts for all staff requirements including a focus on specialized experienced staff with defined skill sets. This may include the coordination with professional search firms employed for specific positions. Responsibilities to include managing the posting of positions, researching potential candidates, screening candidates when appropriate, assisting in the interview process, conducting reference and background investigations as needed and secures necessary approvals.

 

2)          Coordinates new hire orientation process with company departments and conducts orientation covering organization structure, company policies and procedures, all required legal documents, employee benefits, training on HR employee systems and related subjects. Handles employee exit interview process ensuring termination paperwork is processed.

 

3)          Coordinates annual enrollment for sponsored benefit programs. Assists employees with explanation of benefits and related paperwork.

 

4)          Ensures functionality and accuracy of Human Resources Information System. Prepares, analyzes, and distributes reports and maintains HR documents, lists, personnel records and files.

 

5)          Conducts job analysis and writing/updating job descriptions. Tracks the reward and recognition program, and supports the year-end salary update process.

 

6)          Coordinates activities designed to promote and maintain a high level of employee morale. Conducts, plans and assists in employee/management training programs. Ensures employment manual is updated and addresses employee questions and issues.

 

7)          Maintains and expands knowledge of federal and state laws and Human Resources trends. Recommends and assists with the development and implementation of new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of the division and services performed.

 

8)          Performs other special projects or duties, as required.         



 

 

Requirements

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

 

 

Understanding and working knowledge of Human Resources Information Systems; employment law and recruiting techniques; human resources planning, employee relations techniques, benefit programs; and training – planning and techniques.

 

Position requires excellent interpersonal and good oral & written skills; excellent organization, problem solving, public relations; ability to prioritize work and initiative to improve HR processes.

 

Practical knowledge, skills, & abilities usually acquired through an undergraduate degree in human resources or business, a minimum of 5- 7 years of related work experience and 1-2 years supervisory experience.
