The School of Professional Studies (SPS) at Columbia University invites applications for full-time positions at the rank of Lecturer in Discipline or Senior Lecturer in Discipline to teach in the Information and Knowledge Strategy MS Program. This position will begin on July 1, 2018. This is a full-time appointment with multi-year renewal contingent on successful review.

The successful candidates will teach courses related to Information and Knowledge Strategy in one or more of the following areas: Information and Knowledge Strategy, Leadership and Knowledge Strategy, Findability and Innovation, Business Analytics and Strategic Intelligence, Networks and Collaboration, Information Policy and Regulatory Issues, Capstone Project Seminar, Information Visualization, and Social Media in the Organization.

The successful candidate may be asked to serve in an administrative capacity for the MS program. Responsibilities include leading programmatic and curricular development efforts, professional development opportunities for students, and strategic planning for the program, such as marketing, enrollment, student life, and alumni affairs.

The ideal candidate will hold a doctoral degree in Information Management, Knowledge Management, Social and Organizational Behavior, Organizational Development, Human Development, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, or other disciplines related to Information and Knowledge Strategy. Ideal candidates will exhibit a commitment to excellence in carrying out a commitment to excellence in teaching, mentoring, instructional design, and professional practice and/or scholarship.


Candidates at the rank of Senior Lecturer in Discipline are expected to have substantial experience and accomplishments, and a superlative record of teaching as a lecturer, and documented evidence of excellence in carrying out administrative or other department responsibilities.

Candidates at the rank of Lecturer in Discipline are expected to have teaching experience, documented evidence of excellence, and evidence of professional growth and activity in the given field.
