We are looking for a progressive learning professional who is passionate about using technology to create compelling and personalized development experiences. This person will collaborate with various stakeholders to identify and implement technologies and processes that make it easy for employees across our organization to access development resources through multiple modalities. Ultimately, you will have an impact on designing and furthering a learning culture by providing employees with the tools to maximize their own learning and development experiences.


Job Duties

  • Provide leadership, direction, and strategy for the development and improvement of Norfolk Southern’s Learning and Development Strategy

  • Implement/enhance and manage the Learning Management System (SuccessFactors)

  • Manage the annual company-wide performance review process and system

    • Develop training materials

    • Formulate communications campaign

    • Act as primary contact to support HR business partners and all corporate managers

  • Support SuccessFactors platform by providing functional and technical system support including:

    • Super user system administration

    • Process implementation

    • Troubleshooting and User Acceptance Testing

    • Reference guide creation

    • Reporting

  • Guide and advise internal stakeholders on technology solutions to support People Development goals

  • Work with internal stakeholders to determine best ways to leverage SuccessFactors technology to determine the roadmaps for each area of responsibility and agree on proposed solutions. 

  • Identify and analyze SAPERP architecture best practices, determine the potential impact on the enterprise and drive adoption as deemed appropriate. 


Required Skills/Qualifications/Experience:

  • BA/BS. Master’s degree a plus.

  • Certified in SuccessFactors HCM Solutions.

  • Experience in HCM or Integrated HRIS & Talent Management solutions with SuccessFactors implementation experience with at least one module.

  • Translation of Business requirements into System Configuration Objects to create Solution Design for SuccessFactors Employee Management Solution in compliance with the Best Practices.

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex concepts concisely and clearly.

Proven ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects


  • Required to work independently as well as collaboratively with teams; handle multiple tasks; demonstrate business acumen while meeting aggressive timelines with minimal supervision. 

  • Excellent Communication and Presentation skills and must be a team player.

  • Excellent problem-solving capabilities and superior analytical skills.

  • Microsoft Excel. Familiarity with statistical packages and/or SQL a plus.

    Preferred Skills/Qualifications

  • Transportation industry experience with an understanding of related business processes. 

  • Strong consulting and relationship management skills and a track record of delivery and impact.

  • Deep interest and aptitude in data, metrics, analysis and trends.

  • SAP/ERP Architecture
