Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conducts, directs or participates in performance analyses
  • Coordinates the identification and selection of programs to assist with tailored offerings based on identified need or skill building
  • Consults, researches, develops, designs, implements, and administers level appropriate, modern content and program curation to associates
  • Provides consulting services supporting performance-based solutions to business partners, stakeholders, and enterprise associates
  • Tracks and analyzes programs, provides metrics, determines and reports on trends, offers data-based recommendations
  • Responsible for the effective communication of programs and materials developed for the enterprise
  • Utilizes appropriate learning technologies in support of learning solution design

Additional Details:

  • Job may require incumbent to travel overnight via commercial transportation or driving motor vehicles or both, to attend training programs and to visit field locations
  • May be expected to work irregular hours (weekends and/or evenings), based on workload and job requirements

Role #1 - The Learning Engagement Solutions Team - Responsibilities
11 total positions available in Bloomington IL, Tempe AZ, Dunwoody GA and Richardson TX

  • Consults with multiple business learning areas on strategy, complex or cross-cutting learning needs relative to appropriate learning department process and service options to obtain or build learning solutions
  • Coordinates and conducts industry research to determine learning solutions to apply at State Farm to best match business constraints and optimal learning design
  • Coordinates and/or conducts learning needs assessments to determine appropriate learning solutions
  • Coordinates and/or designs solutions at the curriculum and content levels to measurably meet learning and performance gaps
  • Curates and/or develops a variety of knowledge and learning solutions. May include specializations in some development areas
  • Measures cost benefit value when determining and consulting on learning solutions relative to business outcomes in support of enterprise goals
  • Supports the continuous improvement of a user-generated learning solution program focused on providing value-based learning solutions at appropriate costs
  • Leads high level projects, teams, or committees involving multiple departments and/or vendors, on which decisions and deliverables have an enterprise level impact/influence
  • Conveys complex information in a clear and creative way
  • Assists in development of work orders/change orders to best support learning solution design

Experience/Skills/Background Preferred:

  • Demonstrated level of expertise in learning analysis and design thinking
  • Demonstrated level of expertise in designing and developing learning solutions (e.g., web-based training, simulations, video-based training, etc.)
  • Demonstrated ability to measure learning outcomes using appropriate evaluation methods
  • Expert and maintains currency in various learning theories and methodology, instructional design, evaluation & measurement, content curation, performance consulting, needs analysis, and learning technology
  • Advanced degree in learning design-related disciplines preferred

Role #2 - The General Department Solutions Team - Responsibilities
4 total positions available in Bloomington IL only

  • Consults with various general department leaders on the development and prioritization of learning needs in alignment with business goals and strategy
  • Ensures priorities of business area as well as impacts of State Farm's business environment are considered in requesting learning budget amounts
  • Estimates learning needs costs based on available learning department process and service options to determine learning budget
  • Coordinates with various general department support areas to identify performance needs requiring a learning solution
  • Manages lifecycle of learning solutions at a curriculum and catalog level with a focus on improving job performance. Actively sunsets learning solutions and curricula which no longer align with business needs
  • Proactively identifies budget gaps to business area executives and learning department governance bodies
  • Coordinates delivery of facilitated instructional methods
  • Coordinates with approved vendors to provide subject-matter expert support to ensure learning solution best matches performance needs
  • Coordinates with learning department process and service options to provide learning solution and vendor build or buy progress and quality information
  • Ensures all learning curricula and content are aligned to business performance metrics
  • Collects and analyzes learning-related data to make informed business decisions
  • Applies adult learning principles to all learning-related decision-making process
  • Demonstrates advanced skills pertaining to performance-based training and development solutions and is responsible for
    effective implementation and/or delivery of a wide variety of performance-based solutions

Experience/Skills/Background Preferred:

  • Utilizes increasing working knowledge of budgeting process to determine implications to learning solution selection.
  • Utilizes increasing working knowledge of contracting tools and can apply their use in support of desired learning outcomes.
  • Proficient in the use of technology to analyze and resolve problems
  • Expert and maintains currency in various learning theories and methodology, instructional design, evaluation & measurement, content curation, performance consulting, needs analysis, and learning technology
  • Advanced degree in learning design-related disciplines preferred
