SUMMARY: Administers human resources activities with responsibilities for employee relations, staffing, training, safety, human resources compliance issues, and employment records. Advises management and employees on questions or problems relating to human resources. Administratively supports payroll, employee health, welfare and retirement plans company-wide. Benefit programs include: 401 (k) Retirement Plan, medical/dental, short-term disability, long-term disability, workers' compensation, leave of absence, Flexible Spending (Section 125), etc. Acts as liaison between employee and insurance providers to resolve benefit related problems and ensure effective utilization of plans and positive employee relations. Ensures plans are administered in accordance with federal and state regulations and plan provisions are followed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Review employee time and payroll data to ensure accurate and timely payroll.
  • Coordinate and help to administers health and welfare plans including claims resolution, enrollments and terminations. Conducts new employee orientations to ensure employees gain an understanding of company values, benefit plans and enrollment provisions. Counsels employees (and potential employees/applicants) on plan provisions so that individuals can make informed benefit decisions. This includes all levels of employees including executives.
  • Responsible for recruitment efforts for non-exempt employees and new hire processes including but not limited to: coordination of openings, development of job descriptions, diversity recruitment strategies, interviewing candidates, reviewing job offers, writing announcements, and liaison with the hiring manager. Assists with preparation of annual affirmative action plan.
  • Provides support to the organization on development programs such as internship and mentor programs.
  • Conducts exit interviews and analyzes data and makes recommendations for corrective action and continuous improvement.
  • Coordinates rewards and recognition programs such as the Service Awards.
  • Administers various human resources plans and procedures for all personnel; assists in development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures; maintains employee handbook and policies and procedures manual.
  • Maintains Human Resource Information System records and compiles reports from database as needed. Maintains company organization charts and employee files, assuring accuracy, compliance and confidentially. i.e, unemployment claims, verifications, I9 status and State regulations.
  • Participate in and help facilitate safety committee meetings to ensure management and employee commitment to safety and tracking of incident trends through OSHA documentation.
  • Facilitates company sponsored events such as picnics, holiday parties, community involvement events, United Way, etc.
  • Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.

  • Bachelors Degree in Business or Human Resources
  • Three years human resources experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with an ability to quickly and efficiently adapt to changing priorities and environments
  • Strong problem solving, project management, and interpersonal skills are required
