Responsible for overall coordination, status reporting, and stability of project-oriented work efforts across HR Operations. Working under the direction of the division Executive Director, will focus on creating and disseminating communication strategies and products, creating efficiencies across workstreams, compiling and analyzing data to drive and assess project efficacy, and managing key relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Must ensure projects are delivered on time, drive impact and deliverables within budget, comply with high quality standards, and meet customer expectations. Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Demonstrate a clear understanding DPS Shared Core Values and District vision and objectives. Effectively utilize resources to deliver impactful results and provide strong customer service. Promote continuous learning and build a culture of positivity. Demonstrate inclusion and strive to build strong relationships across the District.
  • Assume primary leadership on assigned projects, facilitating completion and communication on all project deliverables including project charters, phase driven schedules, project timelines and milestones, status reporting, resource plans, budgets, etc.
  • Proactively identify, track and resolve issues, risks and dependencies associated with projects managed, and communicate risks and issues to the project team and leadership. Identify and implement issue resolutions. Lead risk management identification and mitigation plans.
  • Use knowledge and expertise of project management methodologies and tools, resource management practices, facilitations skills, and change management techniques.
  • Collaborate with organizational team members and leaders to assess strategic goals and alignment, defining and designing operational and/or policy-based solutions, defining comprehensive change management strategies, managing the implementation and intergration with operational departments, and establishing metrics of long term project success.
  • Develop internal and external communications strategy around key division priorities and initiatives. Provide regular, professional, and appropriate communications to project team members, department heads, business sponsors, and senior leadership.
  • Provide programmatic support for the team, including managing division budgets and payroll, overseeing team-wide meetings and events, and managing special committees.

Requirements

Knowledge, Experience & Other Qualifications:

  • Three (3) or more years of related project management experience.
  • One (1) or more years of writing customer-facing communications and website content.
  • Three (3) or more years of related content experience.
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office, applicant tracking / financial software (Infor Lawson preferred), Adobe Suite products.
  • Bilingual skills in Spanish preferred.
  • Ability to influence large, cross-functional teams without direct reporting responsibility.
  • Ability to work with and enable decision making at various levels of management throughout the organization.
  • Ability to translate customer needs into strategy, technology, and process solutions.
  • Systems implementation project experience.
  • Ability to multi-task and effectively manage several projects in parallel.
  • Stakeholder/sponsor management.
  • Attention to detail is essential.
  • Experience successfully managing transformative projects from conception through implementation.
  • Understands, develops, and applies organizational change management strategies.
  • Strong command of MS Office toolset, Google tools and enterprise solutions, social media platforms.
  • Strong interpersonal, facilitation, and leadership skills.
  • A team player that has the ability to motivate the team and drive to project success.
  • Interest in education sector.
  • Operate and use general office equipment and supplies, telephones, personal computers, related software and equipment (e.g., printer).

Education Requirements:

  •  Bachelor’s Degree required.
