SUBJECT MATTER is seeking a full-time HR Payroll & Benefits Associate to manage the daily payroll and benefits functions and serve as coordinator on a variety of HR generalist projects. This position requires 2+ years HR experience or equivalent graduate degree with demonstrated excellent organization, communication and interpersonal skills.

This is a unique opportunity to own a large and crucial function for the firm, while also being afforded new opportunities for development and advancement. In addition to overseeing payroll and benefits for employees, you will help coordinate HR program, potentially including recruitment, training & development, orientation. Responsibilities:

  • Payroll Administration:
    • Administer updates to individual employee compensation
    • Run consistent reports/compensation analysis for finance team and executive leaders
    • Ability to analyze ongoing reports and flag unusual activity or anomalies in payroll activity
    • Be accessible to employees needing assistance regarding payroll adjustments or with questions related to individual issues (withholdings, taxes, benefit changes, etc) having an impact on payroll
    • Serve as POC for third-party payroll provider
    • Manage rollout of new HRIS system, transitioning existing data and establishing employee workflow
    • Concur Expenses
      • Manage review, documentation and submission of staff expenses
      • Work with finance team and staff to provide or seek clarity on expense issues
  • Benefits Administration:
    • Monitor and manage deadlines and requirements related to benefit election changes and/or needed changes or issues with third-party partners, vendors and brokers.
    • Understand the fundamental laws and regulations associated with employer/employee benefit offerings
    • Be accessible to employees needing assistance with benefit elections and changes
    • Work with finance team to ensure timely and accurate payments
    • Manage benefits renewal process for health/dental/401k and other voluntary benefits programs
  • HR Coordinator/Generalist
    • Provide support and/or oversight on all HR processes, including offer letters, performance review, exit interviews, etc.
    • Manage the on-boarding process, including serving as a point person for hires before start, and providing benefits and orientation overviews to new staff
    • Maintain employee files
    • Collaborate with staff, leadership, proper legal counsel and/or payroll vendor to ensure HR-related issues are properly flagged to the appropriate team members and leaders and handled/documented accordingly
    • Assist with HR reporting and compliance
    • Manage review, documentation and submission of staff expenses
    • Work with finance team and staff to provide or seek clarity on expense issues

Requirements

Applicants Should Have/Be:

  • Excellent verbal and listening communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment while keeping a professional demeanor and prioritizing appropriately
  • Strong skills with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Excel e.g., ability to use formulas to create quick custom reports that consolidate data from more than one system
  • Experience with HRIS systems, including inputting, maintenance and reporting
  • Familiarity with open enrollment processes. Able to evaluate carriers and plan selection, make recommendations, prepare for and execute open enrollment
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deliverables simultaneously
  • Demonstrated ownership and accountability for areas of responsibility
  • Strong analytical skills and sound judgement
  • A positive, professional and “can do” attitude and be a demonstrated team player
  • Flexible, adaptive and eager
