Human Resources Manager

The Human Resources (HR) Manager is a strategic HR generalist with strong leadership, and talent acquisition / retention experience. This role directs a team of HR professionals dedicated to timely hiring, onboarding and retaining quality employee talent. It ensures that compensation and benefits practices align with company strategy and support talent acquisition while serving as an HR strategic advisor to leadership on talent retention, performance management, compensation, and employee relations issues.

 

Responsibilities

 

Talent Acquisition and Planning (35%)

  • Implements and manages recruitment processes and employment programs. Ensures recruiting processes align with current and future workforce needs. Develops and leverages effective, economical recruiting channels and methods.

  • Establishes metrics, develops goals, and oversees team of talent acquisition specialists / recruiters. Develops and maintains relationships with advertisement and recruitment agencies. May lead recruitment efforts for hard-to-fill or senior level positions.

  • Oversees / directs effective use of social media to promote the Hill Physicians / PriMed employee value proposition (EVP).

  • May work with business leadership to optimize department or division reporting alignment, while helping assess talent acquisition needs and succession planning gaps and opportunities.

 

Compensation & Benefits Management (25%)

  • Partners with the Director of People Services in the day-to-day and annual administration of compensation programs, policies, and procedures.

  • Partners with business leaders and the Chief Administrative Officer to ensure that PriMed’s base pay and incentive pay programs remain competitive and consistent with PriMed’s overall compensation philosophy / strategy.

  • May work with HR leadership and external consultants in salary structure review or development and incentive plan design. Acts as the primary internal expert to conduct salary/job analysis and periodically participate in various compensation surveys.

  • Partners with the Director and Chief Administrative Officer to develop annual and long-term benefits renewal strategies.

  • Provides oversight to two benefits administrators responsible for LOA administration, invoice reconciliation, administration of benefits programs, and response to employee questions.

 

Employee Relations, Policy and Compliance Support (25%)

  • Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation to employees and leaders; may lead periodic review and update of employee policies and handbook.

  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance; coordinates or leads communications as appropriate to company leaders and employees.
  • Partners with Director to assess risk, investigate and respond to internal and externally-filed employee complaints; assists Director on performance management.
  • Audits HR compliance programs/classifications (e.g., employee status, independent contractor status, EEO-1, workers’ compensation).

 

Projects and Other Duties (15%)

  • Completes or partners on projects assigned by Director and/or functional senior leadership (e.g., Chiefs and/or VPs).

  • Analyzes attrition trends and metrics in partnership with the People Services team to identify and assess attrition trends and develop strategic retention plans.

  • May represent PriMed at unemployment-related hearings and investigations.

  • May partner with Director to prepare and deliver human capital-related presentations to leadership, governance, and employees.

  • Oversees manpower tracking processes, including position management and contingent workers.

  • Works with others to develop and implement effective onboarding programs.

Requirements

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Communications, or Health Administration; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Human Resources certification (PHR/SPHR and/or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP) preferred.

 

Required Skills and Experience

  • Eight plus years of progressive human resources experience with strong knowledge of progressive talent acquisition, onboarding and retention methods.

  • Leadership skills; minimum three years demonstrated experience leading a team of HR professionals.

  • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including talent acquisition, compensation, change management, employee relations, performance management, and federal and state employment laws.

  • Experience leveraging social media to recruit and effectively communicate PriMed’s employee value proposition.

  • HRIS system experience as a user and administrator; familiarity with Workday highly desired.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills; able to review data, identify trends, and develop and drive execution of solutions.
  • Flexible and able to multitask; demonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities and driving for results.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization with an open, honest and clear communication style that establishes an empathetic and effective relationship with stakeholders.

  • Capable of collaborating and influencing: effectively builds strong relationships and partnerships within the company.

  • Able to work with sensitive, confidential information; a high level of demonstrated discretion and judgment.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and facilitate meetings.
