The Human Resources Manager serves as the primary point of contact for employees in San Francisco, Menlo Park, Los Angeles and Chicago offices. The ideal Human Resources Manager is both professional, approachable and works in tandem with local leadership to ensure the employee experience is top of mind throughout all stages of the employee life cycle.

The Human Resources Manager is responsible for managing and supporting a full range of HR services and programs. This role will also oversee our corporate and administrative recruiting process by working closely with Hiring Managers from various departments and teams across the firm to identify and select top talent. In addition to providing local partnership and support this position will work closely with the broader Human Resources team to provide thought leadership to a variety of talent focused initiatives.

Successful candidates for this role should be well-rounded HR professionals who are problem solvers and people first oriented.

Requirements

How You’ll Help Us Be Successful

  • Serves as the primary, day-to-day Human Resources business partner. Works closely with managers to identify, evaluate, and address employee relations, morale, work performance, and organizational productivity concerns.
  • Provide coaching and support to managers in best practices for providing effective performance feedback; including helping to craft performance messages.
  • Manages the firm wide recruiting process for corporate and administrative staff to include working closely with managers to identify all recruiting needs (including temporary support and permanent roles); recommends effective strategies to source highly qualified candidates; recommending and negotiating salaries; overall maintenance and oversight of a high touch process to ensure a positive candidate experience; and working closely with vendors to identify talent in a cost effective and efficient manner.
  • Develops and implements HR programs and policies to support the firm’s vision and values while emphasizing continuous improvement, team work, high performance and quality.
  • Ensuring compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local legislation as well as the firm’s procedures and policies.
  • Works closely with the HR Director and CHRO to support the performance evaluation process, including production of information and documentation needed in support of the process. 
  • Works closely with the Compensation Manager and HR Director, and in compliance with firm guidelines, coordinates the salary/bonus review process for your assigned region.
  • Assists with new employee onboarding and I-9 verification process.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of the firm’s benefit plans and answers employee questions as well as partner with the firm’s Benefits Director to coordinate leaves (including monitoring leaves taken).
  • As requested, conducts exit interviews in his/her region and assists with analyzing results.

What You’ll Need to Be Successful

  • 10+ years of progressively responsible Human Resources experience in a professional services environment preferred.
  • Well versed in California employment law and compliance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field and PHR certification preferred.
  • Demonstrated self-starter, who is comfortable trying new things, quick to learn new skills, and highly proactive.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks with ease, strategically prioritize them and analyze opportunities to make recommendations on new approaches.
  • Able to demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills – able to communicate complex problems and solutions clearly to a variety of audiences.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office required.
  • Familiarity with HR and ATS software (i.e. iCIMS and Workday) required.
  • Ability to travel in CA and across country.

This position will be located in our San Francisco, CA office, with frequent travel to our Silicon Valley office and occasional travel to our Los Angeles and Chicago offices.
