The HR Manager is directly responsible for the overall administration, coordination and evaluation of the human resource function to include the areas of Labor and Employee Relations, Recruiting and Staffing, Legal Compliance, Employee Compensation and Benefits, Training and Development and the full genre of Human Resources functions.

 

This position reports to the President and will be a key member of the management team.

Requirements

Essential Functions:

 

  1. Develops and administers various human resources plan and procedures for all company personnel.

 

  1. Conducts recruitment effort for all exempt, nonexempt and temporary workers; writes and places advertisements; works with supervisors to screen and interview candidates; conducts reference checking; extends job offers; conducts new employee orientations.

     

  2. Ensures Company is in compliance with the collective bargaining agreement.

     

  3. Investigates problems such as disciplinary actions and employee and applicant appeals and grievances. Provides guidance and recommendations for problem resolution.

     

  4. Implements and annually updates the compensation program, rewrites job descriptions as necessary, conducts annual salary surveys, analyzes compensation, monitors the performance evaluation program and revises as necessary.

     

  5. Develops, recommends and implements personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains handbook on policies and procedures.

     

  6. Performs benefits administration to include claims resolution, change reporting, and annual re-evaluation of policies for cost-effectiveness.

     

  7. Establishes and maintains department records and reports. Maintains organizational charts and employee directory.

     

  8. Ensures compliance with all federal, state and local employment laws.

     

  9. Participates in safety committee and root cause committee. Actively promotes safety within the organization.

     

  10. Responsible for the management of any Workers Compensation claims from initial injury through return to full duty.

     

  11. Oversee training and development for all levels of employees.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position manages the HR generalist/recruiter and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employee within the department.

 

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full time position. The majority of hours worked are during normal business hours. Due to the 24/7 facility occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

 

 

Required Education and Experience:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in human resource management.

  2. 10 years’ experience in human resource management with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in labor management.

 

Preferred Education Experience

  1. Master’s degree in human resource management or closely related field.

  2. SHRM Certified Professional or SHRM Senior Certified Professional credential.
