The HR Manager will also lead and implement key Human Resources initiatives and projects to drive the growth of JM Search. This role interfaces with employees at all levels and works with JM Search’s leadership to establish HR policies, procedures, and programs consistent with its strategy, values, culture and objectives. The Human Resources Manager will perform a full range of HR Generalist responsibilities and services including the administration of talent acquisition, employee relations), training, compensation/benefits and legal compliance.  This position can be part time or full time.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provides professional consultation and support to JM Search leadership and employees in areas such as: human resources policies and practices; federal labor law and regulations; recruitment, hiring and on-boarding process; performance management; employee relations; benefit administration; compensation administration; unemployment compensation; workers compensation; HR organizational effectiveness.
  • Provides guidance to supervisors and managers in resolving employee relations issues; provide coaching to employees and recommending appropriate corrective action for behavior and performance improvements. Advises managers/supervisors on investigating complaints and concerns relating to employee performance and/or conduct.
  • Implements, disseminates, and monitors company policies, programs and procedures in the areas of employee relations, training, compensation, compliance, and benefits to attract, retain, and motivate employees.
  • Lead continuous improvement of HR related initiatives ensuring effective Human Resources advice, guidance and solutions for JM Search.
  • Identifies training needs and/or gaps and develops training programs as appropriate. Also conducts training sessions, including but not limited to, new hire orientation, classroom training and additional leadership sessions.
  • Acts as a subject matter expert and maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Ensures compliance with all applicable labor and employment laws; handle audits inspections and other inquiries from regulatory agencies, as needed.
  • Oversees recording and maintenance of employee information, such as personal data, compensation, benefits, payroll, tax data, attendance, performance reviews or evaluations, disciplinary actions, and terminations/separations of employment.
  • Conducts background checks on new hires; collaborate on the onboarding process to ensure a positive experience for new employees while ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Successful candidates should have at least seven to ten years of professional services/corporate HR support experience.

  • Self-directed with high-level of initiative and strong work ethic.

  • Knowledge of all federal and applicable state Human Resource laws and all company policies and procedures.

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative team environment.

  • Must be sensitive to, and have a proven record of, maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.

  • Exceptional communications skills.

  • Ability to develop strong business relationships and manage expectations.

  • Good judgment and mature emotional intelligence.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and demonstrated proficiency in managing multiple priorities and schedules resulting in effective time management.

  • Impeccable honesty and integrity.

  • Customer service oriented with exceptional client anticipation skills.

  • An undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field is required.
