The Human Resources Manager position is a key role at Affect. The HR Manager oversees the development of human capital, culture, benefits, operations, and productivity at Affect. The primary purpose of this role is to recruit, retain and cultivate a world-class public relations team while streamlining operations and productivity. This position requires strong leadership, excellent communication skills and the ability to solve problems quickly and efficiently. Additionally, this role requires someone that is passionate about building a positive work environment that engenders high energy, creative and team-oriented employees. To ensure that these goals are achieved, this individual must be a trusted advisor and team member that sets a professional example by showing leadership qualities, integrity and discretion with sensitive matters, and can act independently in areas of responsibility.

This position reports directly to the President and will require working closely with the executive team.

Human Resources

  • Guides and administers Human Resource services for the entire company including:
    • Policy Development, Documentation & Implementation
    • Program Development
    • Regulatory & Employee Law Compliance
    • Employee Safety, Welfare & Wellness
    • Health Program Management
    • Administration of Benefits & Compensation Programs
    • HR/Benefits Vendor Management
    • Negotiation of Contracts
    • Analysis of the Effectiveness of all HR efforts
    • PEO/Payroll Administration (Oversight of ADP Total Source)
  • Staff Development and Management
    • -Workforce Planning
    • -Recruiting
      • Direct Advertising, Solicitation, Review and Interview of Potential Candidates
      • Management of Employment Agencies
      • Management of Recruiters & Temporary Staffing Agencies
      • Management of Contract workers
      • Intern Program Development & Administration
    • -Hiring Process Management
    • -Orientation & Ongoing Training
    • -Professional Development
    • -Succession Planning
    • -Performance Management/Employee Review Process
    • -Employee Recognition Program
  • Organizational Development
    • -Change Management Initiatives
    • -Company Events

Requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Recruiting experience, a plus
  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • A minimum of five years of human resources management experience within a boutique or start-up atmosphere
