Job Description: Human Resources Manager

SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP Preferred

Overview

  • Develop, implement, and maintain all human resource, compliance, and training functions for the practice.

Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintains all human resources functions.
  • Implement (and monitor compliance with) organizational and personnel policies/procedures.
  • Recruit, select, train, and retain office staff.
  • Assist the Practice Administrator with performance evaluation; recommend merit increases, promotions, and disciplinary action as necessary.
  • Schedule conferences with managers and employees.
  • Hear and document employee grievances.
  • Assist with employee terminations, conduct necessary investigations or exit interviews, and represent the company at employee-related hearings.
  • Maintain accurate/complete employee records.
  • Administer the new-hire orientation program.
  • Maintain attendance calendar and track PTO.
  • Assist with benefit enrollment for new hires and COBRA enrollment for terminated employees.
  • Responsible for all doctor credentialing maintenance, including all required licensure, liability, and certification requirements.
  • Serve as a Compliance Officer and develop, implement, and maintain compliance program, including quality improvement and monthly reporting to the Practice Administrator. The human resource manager will maintain knowledge and compliance with the following:
    • OSHA (Occupational Health and Safety Administration)
    • HIPPA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act)
    • EEOC (Equal Employment Opportunity Commission)
    • ERISA (Employee Retirement Income Security Act)
    • ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act)
    • HITECH (Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health Act)
    • AHCA (Agency for Health Care Administration)
    • Worker’s Compensation
    • Federal and State Wage and Hour Requirements
    • Develop and maintain training programs.
    • Serve as an inter-departmental liaison for human resources, compliance, and training.
    • Coordinate practice-wide employee events.
    • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending education workshops, reviewing professional publications, and participating in professional societies.
    • Assist Practice Administrator in developing and maintaining job descriptions for all employees.
    • Other duties (as needed) to be assigned by the Practice Administrator; assist with personnel issues and special projects as assigned.

Requirements

Position Requirements

  • 5+ Years of Experience in Human Resources Management.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • SHRM Certification Preferred.
  • Must have working knowledge of human resources, compliance, and training in a healthcare setting.
  • Must be thorough, organized, and function with minimal direct supervision.
