This position is responsible for developing, implementing, evaluating and administering the City’s personnel policies, programs, services and systems including the safety and wellness programs. The position is responsible for ensuring organizational principles are applied to employee practices. The incumbent works independently with minimal supervision and reports to the Management Services Director.

Requirements

Education/Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Public Administration, Business Administration or related field and four years of technical level or higher human resources generalist experience in one or more functional human resources areas; preferably within a municipal or public sector environment.

Licenses/Certifications required:

Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification preferred, or ability to attain PHR certification within 3 years of employment.

Valid Washington state drivers’ license or ability to obtain one.

Must be able to successfully complete and pass a background check.
