Looking for Candidate that has worked alone before in Human Resources and comfortable working with the support of an HR Administrative Assistant.


The Human Resources Manager for MHI Shared Services Americas, Inc. is responsible for performing all HR-related duties on a professional level and will be dedicated and working at the Mitsubishi Aircraft Corporation America, Inc. office located in Moses Lake. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: benefits administration, employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, employment, and employment law compliance.

Job Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Provide leadership and guidance on all HR policies, procedures, and processes in the areas of staffing/recruiting, compensation, performance management, training and development in coordination with MITAC-J HR as needed.
  • Provide expertise and guidance in all areas of organization support, including: HR and business strategy alignment, organization design, workforce planning, culture and change management, leadership development and coaching, pipeline development, and succession planning in coordination with MITAC-J HR as needed.
  • Partner with global IPT leadership team and site specific leadership team to develop and execute both long-term and short-term HR strategies that directly support and enable business objectives.
  • Coach and train managers in their communication, feedback, recognition, and interaction responsibilities with the employees who report to them.
  • Develop training and performance management program that ensures all employees are familiar with their job responsibilities, as well as relevant legal and safety requirements.
  • Partner with global IPT leadership team and site specific leadership team to implement strategic organizational change to increase productivity and employee satisfaction.
  • Ensures legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource federal, state, local and other government requirements.
  • Partner with managers to keep job descriptions up-to-date, accurate and compliant with relevant federal, state, local and other government laws and regulations for all positions.
  • Respond to all inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and serve as first point of contact for employees and managers regarding all HR related issues or concerns on site.
  • Act as a liaison between Corporate Shared Services Group and the site managers and employees.
  • Manage complex employee relations issues, conduct workplace investigations, and resolve grievances through positive and professional mediation.
  • Administer performance review and salary administration program to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity.
  • Promote internal equity and external competitiveness by recommending pay rates for new hires, promotions, transfers and equity increases in line with current industry data.
  • Develop and drive strategies to attract, develop, engage and retain a strong and diverse talent.
  • Identify, address and/or elevate issues to the Seattle HR Office as needed.
  • Coordinate and collaborate all site specific HR activities with HR Office in Seattle and Japan.
  • Develop, revise, and/or recommend new personnel policies, procedures, and approaches to managing the workforce.
  • Prepare employee separation notices, related documentation, and conducts exit interviews.
  • Administer programs to facilitate the work of Rotational Employees including compensation and tax management, immigration requirements, and assistance with any issues requiring interpretation or clarification of human resource related information in coordination with Corporate Shared Services Group and site specific HR staff.
  • Any additional job duties and responsibilities assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and quality
  • Expert in handling employee relations matters with legal knowledge
  • Sufficient knowledge of WA State labor law.
  • Experience working at a global manufacturing company with 100-200 employees
  • Working experience at Japanese firm is preferred but not required
  • Prefer bilingual speaking English/Japanese
  • Excellent computer skills in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of ADP or other Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS).



Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Organization Development from an accredited university or college in related area with at least 8 years of HR business experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Prefer Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) or Human Resource Certificate Institute (HRCI) Certification.
