OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES:                           

Handle employee relations issues and assist with policy interpretation and compliance. Facilitate new hire orientation, all training, recruiting and new hire processing as well as payroll reporting. Assure associate satisfaction thru Marriott programs and procedures. Administer paperwork of all benefit programs.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum Lifting of 30 Lbs. Ability to lift, bend, stoop and sit for long periods.
  • Bachelors degree or its equivalent with 2 to 3 years experience in Human Resources
  • Exceptional verbal and written skills
  • Self-motivated individual able to work under moderate supervision
  • Must be accurate, conscientious, thorough and dependable
  • Strong computer skills including Word ( 60 wpm) Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Payroll processing experience preferred, Mon–Fri 8 to 5:30pm, Very few Saturdays, Non smoking environment
  • Professional Demeanor - Exhibiting behavioral styles that convey confidence and command respect from others; making a good first impression and representing Marriott in alignment with its values.
  • Problem Solving and Decision Making - Identifying and understanding issues, problems, and opportunities; obtaining and comparing information from different sources to draw conclusions, develop and evaluate alternatives and solutions, solve problems, and choose a course of action.
  • Communication - Conveying information and ideas to others in a convincing and engaging manner through a variety of methods. Strong public presentation skills.
  • Adaptability - Maintaining performance level under pressure or when experiencing changes or challenges in the workplace.  

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Responsible to ship and receive UPS and FEDEX and Lost & Found
  • Spanish Speaking Preferred
  • Hospitality experience a must
  • A thorough knowledge of Marriott’s Culture and the importance of the Basics of Brilliant Hosting. Each Manager is responsible for maintaining total compliance of the Art of Hosting by their associates through ongoing training and reinforcement by modeling these behaviors, positive reinforcement and by taking corrective disciplinary measures.
  • Assist with associate requests and notify appropriate management to resolve any associate issues.
  • Maintain accurate records and filing in line with property standards.
  • Ability to respond positively to challenge and pressure
  • Create and distribute reports per requirements.
  • Requires general knowledge of benefit administration.
  • Handle all employment applicant records in compliance with state laws.
  • Participate in special projects as assigned
  • Assure compliance with all policies as outlined in the associate handbook
  • Facilitate all training, orientation, safety, daily basics
  • Ability to work independently and work flexible hours
  • Assure associates complete required Marriott training in a timely manner
  • Lead Spirit To Serve Committee
  • Participate in HR Business Council
  • Participate in community relations and fundraising
