This position will be responsible for administering the compensation and performance evaluation processes for the firm’s lawyers and staff members; the firm’s annual partnership admissions process, and the firm’s employment agreements. This position works closely with the Professional Growth and Development Partner, Diversity Partner, other members of firm leadership, and the professional development and human resources departments. This position reports to the Chief Professional Development and Human Resources Officer and is based in the firm’s global Operations Center in Brandon, Florida.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the preparation, implementation, and administration of the firm’s various compensation, evaluation, and promotion processes for both lawyers and staff.

  • Work with the financial analysis team to prepare compensation spreadsheets to support the decision-making process.

  • Research and analyze market data both for attorney and staff positions in our various markets to inform compensation decisions. Help to establish compensation structures designed to attract, motivate and retain lawyers and staff.

  • Analyze compensation recommendations and results.

  • Analyze and identify opportunities to automate and improve aspects of the firm’s compensation and evaluation processes to streamline and create efficiencies, including adding mobile capabilities and real-time feedback where appropriate.

  • Participate in the evaluation, selection, and implementation of software as needed.

  • Draft communications to provide guidance on these processes.

  • Administer the firm’s agreements with employees to ensure individuals are paid timely and evaluated when appropriate.




  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 5+ years of experience in compensation and performance management, preferably in a law firm environment.

  • Knowledge of compensation and evaluation program design and trends.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to see the big picture.
  • Project management experience to ensure processes meet interim and overall deadlines.
  • Familiarity with best practices with regard to compensation and performance management.
  • Advanced Excel skills required.
  • Advanced problem solving and analytical skills to identify problems, evaluate alternatives, and recommend effective solutions are required.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • High-energy with a strong work ethic, sense of urgency, and willingness to be accountable for performance.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency with HR and performance management systems and reporting. Workday and/or viDesktop experience preferred.
