Position Summary:

Maintains and enhances the organization’s human resources by planning, implementing, and evaluating employee relations and human resources policies, programs and practices.

Tasks / Responsibilities:

  • Reviews weekly payroll and supports processing of payroll as a backup; training of supervisors in the Paychex Flex product; maintenance of employee vacation/personal paid time and employee attendance.
  • Develops and maintains the Employee Handbook.
  • Maintains the work structure by updating job requirements and job descriptions for all positions.
  • Develops and maintains organization of staff by establishing a recruiting, testing and interviewing program; counseling managers on candidate selection; conducting and analyzing exit interviews; recommending changes.
  • Prepares employees for assignments by establishing an onboard procedure, conducting orientation and training programs; coordination of annual retraining.
  • Develops and maintains a pay plan by scheduling job evaluations, preparing pay budgets; recommending, planning and implementing pay structure revisions.
  • Ensures planning, monitoring, and appraisal of employee work results by training supervisors to coach and discipline employees; hearing and resolving employee grievances; counseling employees and supervisors.
  • Develops and maintains employee benefits programs and informs employees of benefits by studying and assessing benefit needs and trends; directing the process of benefit claims; obtaining and evaluating benefit contract bids with recommendation to management; designing and conducting benefit educational programs for employees.
  • Ensures legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resources federal and state requirements.
  • Develops and maintains EEO and Affirmative Action policy compliance.
  • Manages worker’s compensation and OSHA reporting.
  • Maintains management guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending human resource policies and procedures.
  • Maintains historical human resource records by designing a filing and retrieval system; keeping past and current records.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Requirements

Minimum Background, Experience, and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5 - 10 years of human resources experience, with a minimum of 5 years as a manager
  • Manufacturing experience a plus
  • Ability to present to, and communicate well with employees and management
  • Experience with Paychex Flex or a similar product a plus
  • Computer skills including working in Microsoft Office suite
  • Experience in hiring, benefits administration, performance management, compensation and wage structure, employment law, and laws against sexual harassment
  • Reliable, good work ethic, high integrity, and drug free
  • Professional appearance
