At our Firm, you’ll have some of the greatest HR minds right next door (literally!). A woman-owned firm founded in 1995, Schwartz Hannum PC is a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, management-side labor, employment and education law firm based in historic downtown Andover, Massachusetts, with a dynamic nationwide practice. As HR Manager, we’ll count on you to lead all employee-related projects and initiatives while consistently keeping a pulse on employee relations and morale – of both attorneys and staff. To do this, you’ll need keen interpersonal skills, a hands-on “can do” attitude, a natural ability to lead and collaborate, and a thirst for engaging your colleagues while implementing our newly reconstructed “employee-first” culture.

Our employees will rely on you to be approachable and trustworthy, a good listener, and straightforward in your communications and interactions. The HR Manager works independently under the Director of Finance as a key member of the Firm’s administrative leadership team. However, our intimate office of 20+/- employees means you’ll have daily interaction with everyone: from Partners to Associates and all levels of staff.

We admit, this is a big job, and one that will have tremendous impact on shaping the future of our Firm. However, in addition to offering a tremendous opportunity for personal and professional success and job satisfaction, the Firm also boasts generous paid vacation, paid holidays, a competitive benefits package, and 401(k) plan, a casual dress office, a considerable leave policy following birth or adoption, free parking on site, and a nearby commuter rail station.

  • Implement personnel policies and procedures.
  • Administer employee benefits.
  • Actively participate in obtaining employee training and development that addresses the Firm’s needs including, but not limited to, Leadership Development.
  • Resolve employee relations issues.
  • Manage the onboarding and off boarding processes, including new hire benefit/payroll and exit interviews.
  • Maintain compliance with federal and state employment law regulations.
  • Act as trusted resource for Firm leaders and employees.
