The Human Resource (HR) Lead will provide HR related functions alongside the CEO as required. The HR Lead will be responsible for employee relations, professional development and reporting as required.


  • Develops and administers various human resources plans and procedures for all company personnel.
  • Provide advice and counsel to all employees, following the policies, procedures, and employee benefits. Listens to employee problems, and provide feedback to functional managers in order to ensure that corrective action is taken.
  • Provide feedback on employee morale to supervisors / management. This includes suggesting corrective actions to resolve any problem areas, which may occur.
  • Implements and annually updates compensation program; rewrites job descriptions as necessary; analyzes compensation; monitors the performance evaluation program and revises as necessary.
  • Perform candidate interviews to determine candidate experience and fit within the company.
  • Develops, recommends and implements personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains handbook on policies and procedures; performs benefits administration to include claims resolution, change reporting, approving invoices for payment, annual re-evaluation of policies for cost-effectiveness, information activities program and cash flow.
  • Coordinates new employee orientation. Review handbook and job description with new hires, provide welcome kit, educate them on employee benefits, provide direction on how to access information and resources. Check in with new hires at 90 days to share feedback.
  • Maintains accuracy of information within our HRIS systems and with our employee benefit carriers.
  • Establishes and maintains department records and reports. Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings, such as seminars.
  • Maintains company organization charts and employee directory.
  • Perform terminations and execute termination procedures.
  • Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned
  • Participate in the design, development and implementation of innovative workforce retention programs.
  • Attend recruiting conferences and events.
  • Deliver surveys to employees as required.
  • Coordinate employee recognition program, which includes formal and informal award tracking and distribution.
  • Coordinate employee volunteer tracking.
  • Coordinate and perform employee reviews.
  • Coordinate benefit administration for new employees and employee requested changes.
  • Responsible for annual benefits open enrollments.
  • Coordinate employee background checks and performs employment verifications.



  • Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree or advanced HR courses preferred
  • Strong HR Generalist Background; 5 plus years of broad based professional experience with at least 5+ years in all aspects of HR management
  • Experience in the Federal Contracting industry is highly desired
  • Experience acting as an executive coach, working with Senior level management
  • Employee Relations expert
  • Computer proficiency
  • Must possess consulting skills that will effectively address key issues among various small business clients
  • Professional Designations/Certifications: SHRM SPHR/PHR and/or college-level HR Course Certification highly desired.
  • Computer Skills: Ability to operate a personal computer to accomplish work and leverage technology to gain efficiencies required. Must be familiar and proficient with basic desktop applications including email, word processing, and spreadsheets. Skill with all MS Office applications required.
  • Experience with HR data analysis
  • Ability to present data in a logical, concise manner
  • Ability to quickly learn new software systems
  • Capability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion
  • Understanding of how HR data (i.e., demographic data, position movement) fits into short- and long-term strategic objectives
  • Successful use of HR systems to fulfill reporting and data analysis projects
  • Excellent time management, project management, and organizational skills; ability to multitask by handling multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
  •  Highly detail oriented
  •  Ability to make formal presentations to diverse groups
  •  Self-directed
  •  Strong business acumen and understanding of the HR strategic partnership in driving business results
  • Strong oral and written communication skills including the ability to convey statistical analysis to nontechnical users
  •  Strong problem -solving, critical thinking, analytical, decision-making, time management and customer service skills
  •  Understanding of corporate policies and procedures as well as employment laws and regulations
