Position summary:  Assists Human Resource Manager with tasks and programs.


Qualifications required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field or Associate’s degree with three to five years of Human Resources experience in an equivalent position including recruitment experience. Prior experience in a manufacturing industry preferred

  • Knowledge of HR specialties (Benefits, Compensation, Employment, Employee Relations)

  • Ability to manage areas such as coaching, career counseling, PBM, etc. Strong communications skills in order to interface with employees and managers and handle sensitive issues

  • Ability to facilitate meetings; deliver training

  • Excellent knowledge of employee laws

  • Organizational skills

  • Superior computer skills

  • Superior communication skills written and verbal

  • Ability to multitask

  • Critical thinker

  • People Person


Essential functions and responsibilities:

  • Screens and interviews applicants, both internally and externally. Works with managers to identify staffing needs.  Ensures new hires are properly oriented to CPNA

  • Works with employees and managers to resolve employee relations issues. Provides advice to successfully resolve performance problems

  • Assists with the implementation of training and developmental needs of the organization

  • Provides salary administration support to managers by monitoring pay issues, providing advice throughout the year

  • Ensures integrity of data entered into IFS

  • Enters new and updates changes to employee data

  • Administers employee benefits

  • Respond to employee issues and concerns.

  • Ensures compliance with all applicable laws and regulations

  • Utilizing knowledge of certification and job qualifications; ensuring placement is consistent with policies, state and federal law; conduct employee onboarding

  • Post company job openings as needed

  • Complies with all federal, state, and local employment laws

  • Ensures that published job requirements are up to date and accurate

  • Assist with employee training and upkeep of training records

  • Work closely with Production Manager and Quality on Employee Safety

  • Oversee worker’s compensation injury/accidents and OSHA log

  • Report any potential food safety, quality of food defense concerns to the plant manager or quality personnel

  • Maintain product safety, legality, regulatory compliance and quality systems

  • Follow all documented Good Manufacturing Practices

  • Must Follow All Company Policies and Procedures

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Willingness to participate on the department committees

  • Ability to problem solve (listen, identify problems and solutions) and provide excellent internal and external customer service

  • Ability to work collaboratively and be a team player

  • Understanding of cultural competence and ability to work in a diverse environment

  • Ability to work in a fast pace environment, handle multiple task at the same time, and meet deadlines in a timely manner
