JOB PURPOSE: To improve the health and wellbeing of our communities.

 

BASIC FUNCTION: Administers various human resources plans and procedures throughout the organization. Works collaboratively as a member of the Human Resources Department.

 

Works closely with hiring managers on recruiting. Posts and advertises open positions. Develops and executes local and national recruitment plans, employing traditional sourcing strategies and resources as well as developing new, creative ideas.Leads the creation of a recruiting and interviewing plans for each open position. Participates actively in the interview process for various positions. Represents the organization by preparing and conducting booths at career fairs. Efficiently and effectively fills open positions. Acquires compensation data for wage recommendations and annual compensation review. Assists with offers of employment for selected candidates. Performs and documents reference checks. Responsible for new hire paperwork completion and pre-employment processing for new hires. Conducts regular follow-up with managers to determine the effectiveness of recruiting plans and implementation. Provides training to employees and managers. Serves as the first line interface between applicants and the organization. Maintains recruitment systems and databases. Responsible for travel and lodging arrangements for candidates as needed. Performs research and recommends new sources for active and passive candidate recruiting.Creates, updates, and maintains job descriptions.

 

Cross trains and serves as backup for other members of Human Resources Department. Attends and participates in meetings. Scheduling duties include coordinating meetings by identifying appropriate agenda items, issuing reminders, confirming attendance, and ordering requested materials. Runs reports and provides data and information upon request. Participates in developing department goals, objectives, and systems. Maintains other records, reports and logs to conform to EEO regulations. Assists in the completion of annual employee Career Discussions. Distributes and receives information in a variety of formats including phone, email, and fax. Provides customer service to walk in visitors. Coordinates and performs ongoing maintenance of human resources initiatives including but not limited to Workers’ Compensation and Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA). Assists with development and execution of special projects as assigned. Clerical duties include maintenance of employee files and records; maintenance of personnel policies, procedures, forms and documents. Assists with organization and filing. Processes departmental mail. Performs a variety of tasks and other duties as assigned.


 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines. Knowledge of federal and state employment and benefit laws. Working knowledge of equipment common to an office environment including multi-line phone system, fax, copier, etc. Knowledge of computer based programs including Microsoft Office Suite. Knowledge and proper use of grammar, spelling, punctuation, document proofing/formatting and basic math skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills required. Strong customer service skills required. Skilled in analyzing data and preparing reports including both statistical and narrative. Ability to learn computer based applications including but not limited to Empower and Kronos. Ability to demonstrate accuracy in processing detailed information. Ability to effectively multitask. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of information. Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, patients, outside vendors and community members. Ability to identify problems and recommend solutions. Ability to communicate in English both verbally and in writing. Visibility requires maintaining a professional appearance and providing a positive company image to the public. Must be proficient within six (6) months of hire in MS office, Kronos, ECI, and Meditech.

WORKING CONDITIONS:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time. The employee is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock and risk of radiation. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Other conditions may exist which are common in a hospital and office environment.


Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:         A bachelor’s degree preferred.

 

Experience:      If no degree, must have at least one to three years of experience in the HR field.
