We are looking for a bilingual Human Resources Generalist to join our team in Reno, Nevada.

 

Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, the HR Generalist participates in the day-to-day operations for the human resource office including associate relations, leave of absence management, recruitment, onboarding and benefits. The HR Generalist is a main point of contact for associates to seek help and guidance around employment related topics.

 

Essential Duties:

  • Participates in administration of policies, procedures, programs and benefits.
  • Administers workers compensation claims, FMLA and other types of leave.
  • Improves manager and associate performance by identifying and clarifying problems, evaluating and implementing solutions, and coaching and counseling managers and associates.
  • Prepares or maintains employment records related hiring, termination, leaves, transfers and promotions.
  • Maintains and updates human resources documents, such as policies, associate handbooks, and performance evaluation forms.
  • Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, anticipating legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements and advising management on needed actions.
  • Partnering with the Human Resource Manager, investigates associate relations issues, such as harassment allegations, work complaints, or other associate concerns.
  • Ensures that programs are carried out in accordance with company's policies and procedures.

 

Requirements

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) from four year college or university (preferred) and at least 3 years of related generalist experience and/or training in Human Resources; or equivalent combination of education and experience. SPHR or PHR certification is desired. Previous experience in a manufacturing or related environment preferred.
  • Must be able to read, write and communicate in both Spanish and English languages.
  • Strong knowledge of basic principles and practices of human resources.
  • Experience directly managing Worker’s Compensation, FMLA, and employee benefits is preferred.
  • Ability to appropriately handle sensitive and confidential matters.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced environment.
  • Must possess strong attention to detail, organizational and time management skills.
  • Must possess a positive attitude, a customer service mind set and strong communication skills.
  • Ability to develop effective relationships with all levels of the organization.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs to include Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now and Time and Attendance is a plus.
