Job Description:

The Human Resource Generalist will contribute to the fast-paced and heavily diverse daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including, but not limited too: administrative tasks, recruiting/onboarding, administering benefits including various types of leave, performance management, and enforcing company policies and practices.

 Duties, Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring process of sourcing and acquiring qualified job applicants, including associated administrative tasks.

  • Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.

  • Implements new hire orientation, including benefits introduction.

  • Consults to employees regarding benefits including various forms of leave, and FMLA/OFLA

  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale.

  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff. Maintains and manages highly sensitive information in a responsible manner...

  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.

  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications.




  • Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, related degree progressively responsible human resource years of experience may be substituted for degree + two years of human resource management experience

  • Progressively responsible human resource years of experience may be substituted for degree DPE.

  • Extensive knowledge of employment laws and human resources regulations and practices, including compensation, benefits, employee/labor relations,

  • Must possess intermediate to advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office Applications.

  • Preferred Requirements: Previous experience in public sector; PHR or SPHR SHRM Certification and HRIS software knowledge.              


Salary:  47,688.16 – 51,301.54
