Aman resorts consists of 31 resorts across 20 different countries. The first Aman resort, Amanpuri, opened in Thailand in 1988.  Aman is Sanskrit for "Peace".

Amangiri Resort is located in Southern Utah near Lake Powell (Page, AZ) and is located at the heart of the Grand Circle surrounded by multiple National Parks and Monuments. The resort consists of 34 suites,  a main pavilion which includes the dining room, 2 living rooms, a library and a private dining room. Just outside of the main pavilion is the swimming pool which is built around a 160 million year old rock formation. The resort also has a 25,000 square foot spa which includes a yoga pavilion, 5 treatment rooms (4 single and 1 couple's room) as well as a water pavilion and a hydration therapy room.

Human Resources Generalist - Total compensation is $24-$28 per hour (combines hourly base rate and gratuity)

Position includes comprehensive benefits package (Employee coverage is approximately $30/month),  dependent coverage available, complimentary daily meal, and worldwide travel benefits. Candidates must be interested in relocating to and living in a very remote region of Southern Utah/Northern Arizona.

JOB SUMMARY:                 

The HR Generalist performs human resources-related duties at the professional level and may carry out responsibilities in some or all of the following functional areas: employee relations, training, employment, labor relations, affirmative action and employment equity programs.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The HR Generalist facilitates all administrative and clerical functions including answering phones, filing, creating employee handbooks, new hire processes, etc.
  • The HR Generalist partners with employees and management to communicate various human resource policies, procedures, laws, standards and government regulations.
  • The HR Generalist conducts exit interviews, analyzes data and makes recommendations to the management team for corrective action and continuous improvement.
  • The HR Generalist responds to employee relation issues such as employee complaints, harassment allegations and civil rights complaints with the support of the HR Manager.
  • The HR Generalist represents the company for any unemployment claims.
  • Facilitates or provides training to the workforce. Conducts new-hire orientation.
  • The HR Generalist maintains and coordinates employee recognition programs, newsletter, and other staff related recognition initiatives.
  • The HR Generalist reviews applications and interviews applicants to match experience with specific job-related requirements.
  • The HR Generalist interviews, screens and recruits job applicants to fill entry-level job openings.
  • The HR Generalist creates and implements employee activities, parties and other functions.
  • This is not an exhaustive list of duties expected of this position.  Candidates must be flexible to take on additional duties that are pertinent in the role of the HR Generalist.

OTHER FUNCTIONS:

  • The HR Generalist will be the point contact for the HR department when HR Manager is away.
  • The HR Generalist will attend job fairs, conferences, and local HR meetings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or a related field. 
  • Two years experience in Human Resources supervisory/management preferably in a hospitality environment. 
  • SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP or PHR/SPHR certification is preferred.
  • Must have excellent organizational skills and knowledge of standard filing systems with excellent verbal and written skills.
  • Must have a positive attitude which encompasses the essence of caring for others and ensuring that staff expectations are fulfilled at all times.  
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint and Internet.
  • Must handle sensitive information in a confidential manner.
