We are currently seeking a Human Capital Generalist to join our corporate Human Capital team!

The Human Capital Generalist is responsible for performing HC-related duties on a professional level and works closely with senior HC management in supporting designated geographic regions. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: employee relations, policy creation, implementation and enforcement, employment law compliance, and data analytics.

Responsibilities:

Employee Relations:

  • Consults with managers and team members to provide guidance on employee relations issues and to facilitate the resolution of issues consistent with policies and practices.
  • Consults with managers on performance, disciplinary actions and terminations while following the appropriate policies and practices.
  • Completes research from all available resources for due diligence in an effort to mitigate risk.
  • Resolves problems by clarifying issues, researching questions and exploring answers and alternative solutions, and consulting with others, as needed, prior to recommending appropriate actions.
  • Acts with a sense of urgency and competency to handle emergency situations according to protocols.

Company Policy:

  • Develops, maintains, revises, and communicates policies and procedures.
  • Updates and maintains the team member manual with associated policies and procedures.
  • Enforces our policies and re-enforces our values and culture.

Employment Law Compliance:

  • Evaluates current policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies
  • Stays abreast of all legislation that impacts HC and creates applicable new policies to align with legislation, other corporate departments, and the larger enterprise.
  • Develops trainings and communicates compliance policies and procedures to employees and managers.
  • Liaises with vendor to ensure that all site locations have updated employment posters.

HRIS:

  • Assists with PeopleSoft development, enhancement, and maintenance including interfacing with other departments and implementation partner(s).
  • Handles data management within PeopleSoft.
  • Creates and edits reports within PeopleSoft.
  • Reports on and analyzes Human Capital metrics.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Serves as a resource for the field and within the HC department.
  • Assists in developing department goals, objectives and systems.
  • Participates in department staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars.
  • Maintains Company organization charts and the team member directory.
  • Assists in the development and maintenance of department reports.
  • Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of the department and services performed.
  • Performs all other projects and responsibilities as required.
  • Must be willing to travel up to 10% of the time.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: This position has no direct reports, but serves as a coach and mentor for other positions in the department.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Labor Relations, or a related field and a minimum of three to five years’ human resources experience is required, preferably in employee relations and compliance.
  • One of the following certifications is also required: PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification.
  • Must be knowledgeable about the field with the customer skills to network, engage, and interact with all team members, managers, and clients with a high level of service.
  • Must be able to adapt and flourish in an environment where there is constant change.
  • Must communicate professionally and effectively to obtain and relay information to and from staff/clients/guests using multiple modes of communication such as email, phone, or in person.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook), particularly Excel formulas such as Vlookups and pivot tables.
