Reports to:  Mukwonago Site Director (with dotted line to Regional HR Director)


Job Position Summary

As part of site management team, this HR Business Partner and critical leadership role is responsible for driving the strategic direction and tactical implementation of all Human Resource functions within the manufacturing facility, including Aptar programs and related initiatives to proactively meet the current and future business needs.  This role will also interact with regional HR team members for various programs and initiatives, including leadership development programs, to support and align with business performance deliverables.  Responsible for leading site HR team to ensure high quality service and support to all site employees to best meet both business objectives and employee needs, while complying with Federal and State employment laws and regulations. 


Job Elements & Position Responsibilities

  • Provides strategic human resources leadership within site, including developing and driving key site leadership growth initiatives, employee engagement, diversity and inclusion, and overall workforce strategic planning efforts and activities.
  • In the role as Business Partner, fosters a positive work environment to align with both leadership and employees to develop HR programs to support business goals.  Works to enhance employee engagement and morale while ensuring compliance with employment laws, Aptar Core Values/Rules of Leadership, with focus on execution for results with accountability. 
  • Develops and leads a strong, capable HR department that is viewed as a true business partner, proactively addressing complex situations with credible solutions and outcomes to meet business needs.   
  • Executes key HR function deliverables for the site such as recruitment, retention, onboarding, labor and safety compliance, diversity and inclusion, and overall staffing functions (hourly, non-exempt salaried, and exempt professional and management levels) to meet business needs.                                                                          
  • Directs the performance management and appraisal process for management, exempt, non-exempt salaried, and hourly personnel ensuring compliance with Aptar processes and policies.                                                          
  • In coordination with regional HR, performs and administers salary and wage analysis, salary planning, and provides recommendations using various resources to ensure wages and salaries are properly competitive.
  • Oversees Worker’s Compensation activities and cases relating to employees; works in concert with compensation carrier to reach a satisfactory conclusion to open cases; reviews proposed settlement amounts, as required, and is primarily responsible for internal case management of filed claims. Provides direction and/or training to management in dealing with Worker’s Compensation issues and situations.                                                    
  • Monitors and interprets new State and Federal laws or changes as to the impact to the organization and to communicate same to management to ensure compliance; works with labor attorneys on sensitive issues to comply with legal standards and to protect the organization.                                                                            
  • Works with Department Managers or Heads to address performance issues, develop performance improvement plans, prepares necessary documentation for employee's improvement (or termination if necessary).                      
  • Representative on legal issues, Equal Employment discrimination or mediation issues, or Unemployment issues to reach favorable Company outcome on such matters.         
  • Develops, updates, and/or recommends company policy and procedures to meet company needs or to conform to State or Federal laws. Communicates policy and procedure information to proper parties to ensure implementation and compliance.
  • Researches new HR or organizational trends, applications, training, etc., to ensure organization is current with HR leading-edge trends and follows best practices within scope of responsibilities.                                         
  • Develops and manages department budget.                                    
  • Develops strong partnership with the regional HR team and supports regional and global initiatives                                                                     


Required Qualifications


Required:           Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field; MBA preferred

**SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP Preferred  




  • 15+ years progressive HR experience, preferably in a multi-shift organization
  • Manufacturing environment HR leadership experience highly desirable
  • 8+ years supervisory / leadership experience
  • Successful execution of Change Management in fast paced environment                            




  • Strategic and tactical mindset                  
  • Excellent counseling, negotiation, and influencing skills 
  • Ability to challenge the “status quo”, providing effective and sustainable solutions to organization
  • Change management leadership techniques and successful implementation practice                           
  • Excellent interpersonal, collaboration, and communication skills.                                                        
  • Proficiency in English required



  • Sometimes – up to 25%
