Growing, privately-owned, 250+ employee manufacturer in the Greater LA area. 

Summary/Objective
We seek a Human Resources executive to serve as a strategic partner to the leadership team. You will become a valued leadership resource across all departments of the organization. Our ideal candidate will bring and implement best practices related to recruiting and hiring, performance management, compensation, employee relations and engagement, and compliance with federal, state and local regulations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Employee Relations:
• Coach and consult team members and employees on performance-related problems. Resolve issues to maintain positive employee relations while at the same time, optimize organizational performance. Track and identify trends in situational discord for possible strategic resolution.
• Practice and guide employees in consideration of employment law & regulations. Ensures investigations are conducted in a professional manner, compliant with all relevant laws.
• Establish credibility throughout the organization to be an effective listener and problem solver of people issues.
• Develop appropriate policies and programs for effective management of the people resources of the organization. Included in this area are programs for employee relations, affirmative action, sexual harassment, employee complaints, external education, and career development, among others.
• Develop, implement and enforce HR policies and procedures of the organization by way of systems that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the organization.
• Provides guidance and direction to management staff (disciplinary actions, employment termination, employee grievances, performance improvement plans, performance evaluations, etc.).
• Provides defense and responds to legal claims (discrimination, etc.)

Employment and Recruiting:
• Lead the talent acquisition and staffing function, utilizing both internal and external recruiting processes.
• Develop staffing strategies and implementation plans to attract, develop and retain talent while optimizing the employee experience.
• Support effective onboarding and training for all new hires and internal promotions.

Company Policies and Procedures:
• Analyzes and improves programs, policies, practices, and processes associated with meeting the strategic and operational people issues of the organization.
• Assess and advise management regarding the competitiveness of all programs and practices against the relevant comparable companies, industries, and markets.
• Analyze employee data (turnover, employee satisfaction, exit interviews, monthly KPIs, etc.) to enhance & improve HR programs and services and employee experience.

Requirements

The Ideal Candidate:

• 7-10 years of progressive human resources experience;
• High Emotional Intelligence and exceptional communication and negotiation skills;
• Human Resources experience in varied company sizes. Large corporate and small, privately owned company cultures desired.
• Willingness to both think strategically and work ‘hands on’ with HR team members. 
• Employee relations expert with proven experience in establishing and maintaining employee relationships, fostering teamwork and building trust and respect by consistently meeting and exceeding expectations
• High volume recruitment and staffing experience in a manufacturing environment of 100-200 production employees. 
• Experience negotiating with and managing staffing firms. 
• Strong knowledge of policies and programs for effective management of the people resources of the organization to include employee relations, affirmative action, sexual harassment, employee complaints, workers compensation
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously establishing priorities to meet deadlines.
• Ability to communicate effectively (verbal, written, and presentations) with leadership, staff, and internal and external clients.
• Self-confident, self-motivated, collaborative professional who thrives in a challenging, fast-paced environment.
• Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point), and Outlook email and calendar capabilities.
• Bachelor and/or a Masters’ degree in Human Resources or a related discipline desired. SHRM nice to have.
