Human Resources Director

Beverly Farm, a large established non-profit based in Godfrey, IL, is seeking an experienced Human Resources Director. The Human Resource Director will guide and manage the overall provision of Human Resources services, policies, and programs for Beverly Farm. She or he will be responsible for developing organizational strategies by identifying and researching Human Resources issues and best practices; contributing information, analysis and recommendations to Beverly Farm’s strategic thinking and direction; and establish Human Resources design in line with organizational objectives. The Human Resources Director will Implement Human Resources strategies by establishing departmental accountabilities and policies, including: talent acquisition, staffing, employment processing, compensation, benefits, training and development, records management, safety and health, succession planning, employee relations and retention, legal compliance and labor relations.

  

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Establishes and leads the standard recruiting and hiring practices and procedures necessary to recruit and hire a superior workforce.
  • Ensures Human Resource operations are within established budget. Develops action plans and initiates corrective actions to minimize the impact of forecasting variances in fiscal year budget.
  • Formulates and recommends Human Resources policies and objectives for the company on any topic associated with employee relations and employee rights, ensuring documents promote organizational values.
  • Partners with management to communicate Human Resources policies, procedures, programs, and laws.
  • Coaches and trains managers and supervisors in their communication, feedback, recognition, and interaction with the employees who report to them.
  • Conducts investigations when employee complaints or concerns are brought forth.
  • Reviews, guides, and approves management recommendations for employment performance.
  • Responsible for the design, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of the organization's compensation programs, including base pay, incentive pay, and performance management programs. Works with administrators to ensure that compensation strategy and programs support the organization's business objectives, budget limitations and meet all legal requirements
  • Establishes an in-house employee training system that addresses employee training needs including training needs assessment, new employee onboarding and orientation and management development.  Provides necessary materials and resources to managers and employees including workshops, manuals, employee handbooks, and standardized reports.
  • Leads the development of benefit orientations and other benefits training for employees and their families.
  • Leads company compliance with all established governmental, labor and legal reporting requirements.
  • Protects the interests of employees and administration in accordance with Beverly Farm’s Human Resources policies and governmental laws and regulations.
  • Identifies and monitors the organization's culture so that it supports the attainment of the company's goals and promotes employee satisfaction.  
  • Directs all aspects of the workmen’s compensation program.

Requirements

JOB QUALIFICATONS:

  • Knowledge and experience in employment law, compensation, organizational planning, recruitment, organization development, employee relations, safety, employee engagement, and employee development.  
  • Outstanding interpersonal relationship building and employee coaching skills.  
  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills and be comfortable presenting in front of large and small groups.
  • Must have good organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and follow-up.
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment, as well as be able to multi-task and stay focused.
  • Ability to be resourceful and proactive in dealing with issues that may arise.
  • The ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field and 10 years of Human Resources experience preferably in the health care industry, or related field; or any combination of education and experience equal to the above.
