Purpose and Key Results of the Position

The Human Resources Coordinator assists Human Resources and the Company in the achievement of staffing objectives by proactively sourcing and recruiting qualified candidates.  This position is responsible for the full cycle recruitment and onboarding process. This position is also the champion of the Performance Management module in UltiPro.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities

Recruitment

  • Recommends and establishes recruiting policies and procedures. Trains hiring managers on the same.
  • Works with hiring managers to identify the need for replacement or new positions and establish selection criteria.
  • Builds applicant sources by researching and contacting colleges, internet sites, local agencies, social media, etc. Coordinates use of social media with marketing as appropriate.
  • Evaluates applicants by reviewing application materials and conducting phone screens as requested by hiring managers.
  • Schedules and participates in interviews as part of the interview panel when requested.
  • Organizes post-interview debriefing with interview panel.
  • Prepares offer letters.
  • Schedules appropriate background and drug screening and completes other verifications such as reference checks as required.
  • Participates in job fairs and other recruiting activities. Researches and makes recommendations for new recruitment sources.
  • Implements and maintains recruitment module in Human Resource Information System (HRIS) system.
  • Collaborates with Department Managers on use of temporary workforce as needed. Monitors temporary employee hours to ensure compliance with internal standards.

Employee On-Boarding

  • Coordinates and executes new hire orientation programs. Collaborates with Quality Systems, Safety, and department Managers to ensure employees receive essential information during first week of employment.
  • Create and execute new employee onboarding feedback system.
  • Maintains and updates the Company organizational chart.
  • Responsible for maintaining I-9 files including using the E-Verify system.
  • Coordinates all new hire paperwork.

Performance Management (HRIS)

  • Responsible for utilization of the human resources software system for training and tracking of goal setting, facilitating feedback conversations, and recording performance.
  • Distribute annual performance assessments utilizing the HRIS system. Update performance assessment templates as needed.

Updating policies and procedures

  • Assist the Human Resources Director in providing timely revisions to HR practices, handbooks, and procedure manuals in response to changing laws and regulations.

Safety

  • Adhere to safety programs in order to provide a safe and clean workplace for fellow employees within all OSHA local, state and federal regulations.
  • Complete necessary trainings to ensure all Lundberg certifications required for role are maintained as current. Certifications may include, but are not limited to, Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP), Back Safety, Forklift, Arc Flash, Confined Space, etc.

Other

  • Maintain regular attendance in accordance with Lundberg Family Farms’ Attendance and Punctuality standards.
  • Complete training required for position and maintain applicable certifications.
  • Completes all employment verifications and EDD inquires.
  • Serve as back-up for employee recognition and events.
  • Serve as back-up for employee leave of absence and worker’s compensation.
  • Assist with personnel filing as needed.
  • Use knowledge of company operations and human resources regulations to answer routine inquiries from various internal and external sources.
  • Perform other assignments from time to time as requested by the Human Resources Director to achieve department and company business goals.

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Ability

  • In-depth understanding of full-cycle recruitment.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information in a professional manner.
  • Detail oriented with excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel and Outlook.
  • Demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues, supervisors and managers at all times.
  • Work well under pressure in order to meet multiple, and sometimes, competing deadlines.

 Qualifications

  • An Associate’s Degree is required in Human Resources, Business or a related field; two additional years’ experience may be substituted for a degree.
  • One year human resources or related experience.

Preferred

  • Bilingual Spanish, Hmong, or Punjabi.

 Work Environment

The work area is in an inside office environment with moderate temperatures and low background noise.  The position requires periodic work in other departments within their work environment, including office, manufacturing and agricultural environments.

Physical Requirements for Performing Essential Duties

Sitting/Standing/Walking: 90% of the work time is spent sitting in an office and the other 10% is spent standing/walking around work area and in production areas.

Speaking/Hearing: Ability to communicate with employees.

Vision: Ability to effectively visualize the computer screen and paper documentation.

Lifting/Carrying: Ability to carry, hold, and lift up to 20 lbs. for a short distance when required.

Stooping/Kneeling: Ability to kneel and/or stoop when required.

Reaching/Handling: Ability to reach and/or handle objects when needed.
