Are you a strategic HR Manager or Generalist who would enjoy bringing your expertise to a variety of organizations? Do you thrive on building relationships and providing hands-on support to solve problems and meet the needs of clients? Do you have experience with a variety of industries and organization sizes, including non-profit, working with unions, and more? 

As a full-time HR Consultant, your assignments may consist of either short-term projects or longer engagements providing on-going HR support. Ideal candidates will have a minimum of eight years of HR Generalist experience and are knowledgeable in all aspects of federal and Washington state employment law.

Essential job duties:

  • Partner with members to provide effective solutions to their Human Resources needs as outlined in the agreed upon scope of work.
  • Deliver high quality work on assignments, while performing within the scope of work and budget outlined in the proposal. Examples of work may include, but are not limited to:
      • Support the recruitment and selection of organizational talent.  
      • Develop, write, review, and revise member policies and procedures.
      • Seek out or provide expert HR advice to members as issues and questions arise.
      • Assist with and provide recommendations to improve workflow and business streamlining as it relates to the Human Resource function.
      • Prepare and maintain internal and external reports. (Including, but not limited to: performance reviews, worker’s compensation, and unemployment security)
      • Conduct HR Reviews, and/or provide guidance to members on HR compliance and best business practices.
      • Work alongside executive teams executing their people strategy.
      • Perform all duties and act as a member’s HR leader or department as needed.
      • Complete member special projects.
    • Respond promptly to member questions and requests for service.
    • Actively inform members of other Archbright services and products that would add solve problems or add value.  
    • Demonstrate a high level of professionalism, integrity and respect for others.
    • Actively participate in Archbright meetings, industry seminars, and continuing education courses.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.


Key competencies and skills:

The successful candidate will possess the following skills, abilities, and experience:

  • Familiar with all aspects of federal and Washington State employment law.  

  • Experience working with all levels of employees, including advising manager and executive teams.   

  • Experience with a variety of industries and organization sizes, including non-profit, working with unions, and more

  • Proven ability to present a knowledgeable, confident, friendly, and professional manner over the telephone and in-person with members.  

  • Dedication to quality and accuracy, timeliness and service to members.  

  • Ability to clearly write and articulate a host of complex HR and business-related topics.   

  • Strong organizational skills.  

  • Proven ability to prioritize while multi-tasking.   

  • Works well with a variety of personalities and is able to work independently or alongside a team.  

  • Experience delivering HR services in a consulting environment or HR account management is a plus. 

Supervisory Responsibilities:


Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Experience delivering HR services in a consulting environment or HR account management is a plus

Certificates, Licenses, or Registrations:

  • Preferred but not required -  current PHR or SPHR and/or SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification

Computer Skills:

  • Microsoft Office® Suite
  • Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS), or other HR related technologies.

Work Environment:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to computer monitors and shared workspaces. The noise level in the work environment is typically at a white-noise level.

  •  Regular travel to member sites in the Puget Sound area, particularly seeking the ability cover  the areas South of, and around Seattle

  • Ability to work from home or the Archbright office in Seattle on internal projects when not fully utilized on member assignments. 

  • Office environments will vary based on the member’s facility.
