The Classification and Compensation System Administrator  maintains the County's classification and pay system  for approximately 2500 employees within a wide variety of occupational areas along with management service positions. The position is performing at the advanced level and is responsible for position analysis, classification determination, system and policy structure,  administration including labor market analysis, and conducting position, occupational, and unit studies to ensure system maintenance and update. Work involves developing and documenting system procedures to streamline processes and ensures compliance with regulatory requirements.  Position projects include survey participation and analysis and compensation integration that supports a variety of occupational compensation systems. Position provides significant consultation to hiring managers and staff regarding classification and compensation principles and procedures and advises on all documentation requirements.  Work also includes working with HRIS and IT staff to ensure that system software meets compensation needs to complete data analytics and analysis for system updates and maintenance.  Position works in team environment and reports to the Human Resources Director.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

Graduation from a four-year college or university and three years of experience in personnel administration in either position management or training and development or talent acquisition and salary administration; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 

Manager's Preference:  
Public Sector experience with demonstrated  knowledge in the professional application of methods, and techniques of position classification  and compensation principles.  SHRM Certification is preferred.
