This position provides human resources consultation and support to a designated business unit to define and execute HR Strategies that enable accomplishment of business objectives. Develops workforce plans and an understanding of external trends and issues in the industry that could potentially impact business. Assists unit management with training and development needs for the unit. Provides advice on succession planning decisions. Utilizes knowledge of various human resources functions to provide tactical support to Business Unit Managers and Team Leaders. Acts as a liaison with other HR functions including recruiting, benefits, payroll and training. Provides change management leadership as needed. Expectation is that the HR Business Partner will act as a member of the assigned units’ staff.

Serve as employee relations generalist for specific units to guide policies related to the unit. Key communication point for employee teams in regard to HR issues. Develops and manages the manpower plan, the annual merit plan, develops compensation review and proposals. Supervise office routines, assignment prioritization, and provide technical expertise as required. Assure plant-wide uniformity in application of policies and programs. Update Human Resource Manager of all activities, situations and developments within the plant. Accomplish special projects assigned by Human Resource Manager.


Education:This position requires a degree in Human Resources, or related Social Science or equivalent experience.

 Experience: A minimum of five years’ experience as an HR generalist is preferred.

 Additional Information: Strong managerial and leadership skills, a professional image and self motivation are highly desirable traits.

Position Accountabilities

  • Knowledge of Federal and State law necessary to relate company policies to all personnel decisions.
  • Assist in decisions that deal with all compensation related matters and participate in annual plant manpower plans and budgets.
  • 50% of influence is based on expertise while the other 50% is based on interpersonal abilities.
  • Respond to various questions and personnel concerns requires the ability to think independently due to unit autonomy and various methods of personnel management in existence throughout the organization.
  • Provide solutions to "personal" personnel issues are often difficult due to the confidential nature of the decisions as well as the complexity in administering company policies and procedures in a jointly owned company.
  • A high degree of personal and procedural control is necessary in order to represent the company appropriately in all personnel and corporate situations such as decisions on appropriate documentation of disciplinary actions and development and administration of company employee relations policies.
  • This personal and procedural control can and will affect the organization in all aspects of Company trust and perceptions by employees.

The magnitude of effect this personal control has is equivalent to the cultural health and morale of the entire organization
