Overview of the role:
As part of a small but global HR team, the Human Resources (HR) Business Partner will have the opportunity to partner with the Head Office in Toronto, Canada, and General Manager in New York by creating and implementing key initiatives and leading day-to-day HR for the New York office. The role will require an emphasis on recruitment and selection, with proven experience in a generalist capacity.

- Manage full-cycle recruitment and selection by partnering with leaders to proactively attract talent and implement best practices that will deliver an exceptional candidate experience
- Administer benefit and compensation programs in partnership with Head Office
- Manage all payroll employee changes for the New York office including internal communications and partnering with Finance on semi monthly payroll and benefits changes
- Support and coach managers with all employee relation matters in order to ensure legislative compliance which may include performance management, discipline, and leaves of absence
- Manage administrative day-to-day responsibilities for the HR function in New York office including time off and compliance reporting
- Establish strong internal and external partnerships that deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflect the business objectives of the organization
- Collaborate with Head Office by actively participating and implementing key global initiatives that enhance the employee experience including talent management and employee development
- Ensure that HR policies and procedures are updated and implemented as needed
- Other responsibilities based on business need


- 5 to 7 years of experience in a progressive, generalist HR role
- Bachelor’s Degree with a focus on Human Resources
- Human Resources designation or certification is preferred
- A track record of managing HR processes and HR practices including employee engagement and organizational change
- Working knowledge of federal and state regulations and employment laws to ensure compliance in the US
- Proven ability to establish strong working relationships
- Ability to collaborate on global initiatives that align to the company priorities and goals
- Strong communication skills, both verbally and written
- Flexibility to work in a changing environment
- Strong attention to detail
- Comfortable acting both operationally and strategically with a heavy emphasis on the operational side
- Comfortable working with autonomy
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and projects with competing priorities and deadlines
