Position Summary:

The HR Business Partner (HRBP) ensures the implementation and application of HR policies and processes within their business area. Responsibilities include developing and engaging with managers and employees on matters relative to communications, performance management, skill development, and recruitment. They are the primary interface for HR in the business.

Essential Functions:

Evaluate people related business needs and coordinate with other HR departments for translation into appropriate HR policies, processes and tools.
Responsible to engage with all employees in assigned work groups and develop trusting relationships and an appreciation of job roles and interrelationships.
Support managers and supervisors in communicating with employees in problem-resolution; completing required HR processes and providing access to company resources i.e., copies of policies, employee forms, etc.
Serve as employee advocate ensuring a fair, consistent, open concern resolution process.

Collaborate with managers and supervisors in the administration and implementation of plant and company-wide programs such as Reward and Recognition Programs, annual company-supported charity drives, etc.
Work closely with managers and supervisors in documenting and evaluating appropriate action to take relative to employee performance.
Support managers in recruiting for replacement and new staff members. Validate content of job descriptions and advertising. Assist in developing appropriate and applicable interview questions. Jointly work on defining internal interview process. Oversee and ensure a thorough and complete New Employee Orientation program.

In conjunction with managers and supervisors identifies and/or responds to pay issues within group and seek advice and counsel from recognized internal resources.

Apply knowledge of HRIS system to provide comparative, summary and prospective data to respond to manager inquiries.
Bring Human Resources related aspects to the strategic planning of the partner organization and its day to day operations. This includes giving advice on the people related aspects of management decisions. HRBPs are the voice of HR within the business.

Challenge the business to ensure compliance with company strategy and policies.
Actively participate in Talent Management; drive people development through both direct action and coaching managers to develop their people and themselves.

Coach and encourage managers to take action to create and maintain engaging safe, positive, productive environment within the partner business sector.
Support management teams in managing change, particularly bringing focus to the human aspects of change, with the support of Leadership & Culture Change.
Develop and deliver communication programs and delivery jointly or with clear support of managers and supervisors.

Participate as an HR professional in Airbus Americas-wide projects furthering HR programs.

Qualifications/Basic Job Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years' experience as a human resources generalist engaged in a multi-functional role, preferably in manufacturing.
  • Demonstrated skill in dealing with and resolving interpersonal problems with employees and managers.
  • Demonstrated skill in written and oral communications on a range of issues.
  • Experience dealing with a range of generalized employee sentiment and working with managers to address resolve and/or encourage it.

Education/Special Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Management or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A PHR or SPHR designation is preferred.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English. Education and/or training in identifying and solving issues in the workplace including stress, anxiety, and related matters.

Working Conditions/Physical Demands:

  • Vision: Adequate to enter and read material on computer screens. Able to identify individuals to initiate greetings, the giving of directions and other business interactions.
  • Hearing: Able to hear sufficiently to engage in conversation in office settings. Able to hear safety alerts and warning signals.
  • Speaking: Able to engage in conversations in person and via electronic means and deliver information to groups of varying size with or without amplification.
  • Equipment Operation: Able to operate a wide range of personal and office electronic equipment.
  • Carrying: Able to occasionally carry up to 20lbs/9kg while engaging in training, addressing production issues or as part of continuous improvement projects.
  • Lifting: Able to occasionally lift up to 20lbs/9kg.
  • Pushing/Pulling: Able to push/pull items in office areas.
  • Sitting: Able to sit for extended periods of time at computer and in meetings.
  • Squatting/Kneeling: Able to occasionally squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items shelved on bottom shelves.
  • Standing: Able to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Travel: Able to travel overseas and domestically sometimes for extended periods of time. Able to work outside in hangers in changing locations.
  • Walking: Able to walk through office and production areas, around flight line and airstrips and sometimes on uneven indoor and/or outdoor surfaces.
