Role Summary:


The Human Resources Associate (“HRA”) reports to the HR Manager and provides functional and tactical HR support for all team member lifecycle activities and recruitment services as directed. The HRA is responsible for and has working knowledge of the day-to-day administration of HR policies and programs of the Company.


Position Responsibilities



HR Administration


  • Participate and assist in the implementation, enforcement, and communication of all HR policies and services.
  • Assist and participate in writing and revising Company policies & procedures and related personnel documents and forms as needed.
  • Responsible for the duties associated with new hires and terminations, including new hire orientation and exit procedures.
  • Maintain Human Resource Information System (HRIS) records and compiles reports from database as needed.
  • Assist in the generation of HR reports and metrics.
  • Complete recordkeeping activities including new team member personnel file set up and updates. Maintain team member personnel files and ensure adherence to the retention schedule and content of personnel files in adherence to Department of Labor guidelines.
  • Complete data entry and verification of payroll for Jake's and Gourmet Ranch for review and approval by the HR Manager.
  • Assist with journal entry functions for Gourmet Ranch payroll and health insurance costs for Jake’s and Gourmet Ranch.
  • Assist in preparing government reports related to EEO compliance, quarterly and yearly tax and ACA filings for Jake’s (940/941/W-2s/1095-Cs, etc.).
  • Respond to management and team member questions regarding HR policies/procedures, services, and group benefits.
  • Assist in investigating and responding to issues concerning, but not limited to: Federal and state discrimination charges, disciplinary actions, working environment, and unemployment claims.
  • Assist the HRM to track status of team member performance reviews and professional development activities.
  • Coordinate delivery of training programs as instructed. Create and maintain a tracking system to document training requirements and validate attendance by team members in training programs.
  • Assist with Company events and Core Values Retreats as needed.
  • Participate in special projects that enable the Human Resources department to contribute to the realization of Company goals.
  • Assist with communication efforts regarding HR initiatives, activities, goals, and group benefits.


Perform other job-related duties in area of responsibility as assigned.




  • Execute the Company’s existing well-documented Screening and Hiring System for warehouse and driver applicants. This includes, but is not limited to, recruiting, testing, interviews, pre-employment drug test and background checks.
  • Handle all activities related to recruitment of new team members - post recruitment ads, screen candidates, schedule interviews, provide follow up, prepare offer letters and onboard new team members. Setup new hires in the HRIS.

  • Proficient with Microsoft office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and experience with using Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) for analysis and tracking of team member data.


Language Skills:


  • Ability to speak and communicate well with customers, vendors, and team members

  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals, work instructions, and software manuals


    Mathematical Skills:


  • Strong analytical skills with a solid foundation in Algebra with a basic understanding of Statistical and Financial methods.

  • Understanding and proficient with complex formulas to create in depth spreadsheets within Microsoft Excel


    Experience and Education



Experience Required:

  • One (1) to three (3) years of general business experience, Human Resources preferred.


    Education Required:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree or equivalent administrative experience in a business environment with exceptional interpersonal skills.


    Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  • PHR, a plus.

    Minimum Requirements:


  • Must be at least 21 years of age

  • Must pass all screens

  • Willing to work additional hours, holidays and weekends as requested

  • Available for questions and problem solving outside of normal business hours
