Human Resources Advisor #09661


Puget Sound Energy’s (PSE) Human Resources Department is looking for a Human Resources Advisor to join our team! This role, under the supervision of the Senior HR Advisor and the Human Resources Manager, will perform a variety of job functions to assist in the delivery of labor/employee relations, as well as broader Human Resources department programs and activities.

Position responsibilities include:

· Resolving employee/labor relations issues with varying levels of complexity; working under the guidance of the Senior HR Advisor and the Manager, Human Resources; conducting thorough investigations, delivering thorough reports and proposing recommendations to resolve employee complaints.

· Assist in the delivery of training programs as required; ensuring compliance with PSE policies, contract regulation and local, state, and federal employment laws and regulations.

· Researching, documenting, and coordinating efforts associated with grievances, arbitrations, and other issues related to the represented workforce.

· Participating in the implementation of HR programs, processes, and other initiatives as assigned; building tools and resources to support management effectiveness; increasing employee understanding and consistent application of company policies, procedures and practices through training, coaching, one-on-one communication and policy and contract interpretation.

· Reviewing and responding to unemployment claims; having the ability to drive to PSE work locations (within Washington) to meet with employees, supervisors, and managers; delivering training programs as required; conducting investigations; performing other duties as assigned.

· Provide consultation and support in conjunction with the Leaves and Accommodations group to facilitate and manage complex leave and accommodation cases.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

· Bachelor’s degree in related field and/or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
· Strong demonstration of high ethics and ability to maintain confidentiality.
· General understanding of local, state, and federal employment law.
· Ability to objectively coach employees and management through complex, difficult, and emotional issues.
· Proven customer relations skills including problem solving and conflict resolution.
· Excellent communications skills (oral, written, listening).
· Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced and changing environment.
· Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
· Group presentation and facilitation skills
· Ability to coach, mentor and influence others.
· Ability to organize and prioritize work.
· Proficient in using Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint (Microsoft software).

Desired QUALIFICATIONS:

· 3 or more years related experience in HR including employee relations, performance management, compensation, and training and development, or an equivalent combination of experience and education necessary to perform the job.
· Prior utilization of change management techniques.
· Experience using SAP or other HRIS system.

· This is considered a driving position and the selected candidate must have a valid driver’s license and pass PSE’s driving and criminal background check.
