Human Resources Administrator and Tuition Coordinator

Lafayette College

Easton, PA

 

The Human Resources Administrator and Tuition Coordinator position works closely with HR management to perform advanced HR-related duties and to administer the College’s Tuition Assistance and Grant programs.

 

Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks Include:

  • Administering the tuition programs, including interpreting policy, processing payments, investigating issues, answering questions, reconciling annual expenditures and resolving tuition issues.
  • Working closely with Payroll including providing payroll authorizations and accounting information to pay employees.
  • Assisting employees and supervisors with basic interpretation of HR policies and procedures.
  • Developing and implementing an ongoing process for establishing and monitoring key HR metrics.
  • Managing the department budget including reconciling personnel, recruitment, legal, and tuition payments, bills and budgets.
  • Posting positions and placing recruitment advertising.
  • Creating and maintaining search folders for open positions
  • Processing invoices for recruitment, moving expenses, advertising, etc.
  • Preparing letters including offer, promotion, job change, termination and annual salary letters for staff.
  • Processing all paperwork for new employees, terminated employees, as well as promotions, changes, etc. including updating Banner and creating account workflows.
  • Setting up new employees for online training.
  • Performing HRIS data entry and personnel file maintenance.
  • Processing unemployment claims.
  • Maintaining a temporary employee program by conducting recruitment efforts for temporary employees and coordinating the use of temporary employees across the College.
  • Participating in developing and monitoring progress on departmental goals, objectives, and systems.
  • Monitoring and helping maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Assisting with planning of special events such as the Annual Retiree and Administrative luncheons.
  • Event Planning.
  • Working on special projects/research as requested.

 

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.  
  • Three to five years’ experience in human resources.
  • Strong writing and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated project management skills.
  • High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation.
  • Demonstrated experience or educational background in developing and presenting HR metrics.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office including creative ways of depicting data related to HR spreadsheets.
  • Experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously under tight time lines, and working individually and as a team.
  • Strong judgment and organizational skills.
  • Professional demeanor.

 

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in higher education.
  • Certification in HR.
  • Experience with Banner.
