Position Summary

The Human Resources Representative is responsible for advanced and confidential duties requiring broad and comprehensive experience, skill and knowledge of organization policies and practices.

 

Major Responsibilities

  • Interview applicants for hourly positions, and develop and utilize various sources of potential applicants to fulfill staffing needs. Maintain relationships with staffing agencies and reconcile invoices
  • Implements recruitment strategies and conducts orientation
  • Maintains and coordinates employee activities and assists with communications (newsletter, looping communication, bulletin boards, etc.)
  • Assists with Employee Relations concerns, maintain positive associate relations
  • Administer the employee satisfaction survey, analyze and present findings to management and assist in development of action plans
  • Creates and maintains statistical data for the human resource department
  • Assists with the ACP process and disciplinary documentation
  • Guides the IRP process and sets up panels
  • Human Resource support to include processing new hires, status changes, terminations, unemployment, layoffs, and employee benefit communications
  • Assists with special projects (open enrollment, annual increases, wellness programs)
  • Ensures adherence to all federal, state and local regulations

Requirements

Required Competencies, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

 

Education Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree in Human Resources or related field, Bachelor’s Degree preferred

 

Relevant Work Experience/Requirements

  • 1-3 years Human Resources experience
  • Strong PC skills including the Microsoft Office Suite; primarily Excel and Word
  • Working knowledge of HR administrative requirements pertaining to OSHA, FMLA, COBRA, STD, AAP, EEO, ADA, Unemployment, and Workers' Compensation
  • Working knowledge of HRIS systems
  • Ability to effectively present information publicly to varying audiences
  • Ability to properly maintain confidential or sensitive information
  • Ability to inspire and get along well with a variety of personalities and individuals, showing consideration for and maintaining good relations with others
  • Ability to organize and direct a project to completion utilizing given tools, resources, and deadlines
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to adapt to change in the workplace
  • Ability to take responsibility for your own or the performance of those reporting to you by setting clear goals and expectations, tracking progress against the goals, ensuring feedback, and addressing performance problems and issues promptly
