Summary

 

The Human Resource Generalist is responsible for supporting all areas of Human Resources which include recruiting, contract staffing, college internships, onboarding, diversity and inclusion, training and benefits and payroll support.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, any one of the following assigned areas: 

 

  • Attends offsite recruiting events and college career fairs for the entire company.
  • Manages college internship program for the entire company; this includes management approvals, preparation, onboarding, presentations and exit of all college interns.
  • Maintains Applicant Tracking System which includes posting internal and external openings on the company website and managing the open position headcount.
  • Manages the EEI Testing and Mine Testing processes; also administers testing and monitors inventory of testing materials to ensure quantities are available as needed.
  • Ensures accuracy of job descriptions with PSGC management for job postings.
  • Prepares interview files, schedules and participates in internal and external interviews and files completed interview paperwork as required.
  • Writes internal job offers letters for candidates including any internal transfer and promotion paperwork along with internal organizational announcements.
  • Writes external job offers letters for candidates including new hire announcements.
  • Ensures candidates complete pre-employment physical and background checks in a timely manner.
  • Manages New Employee Orientation Program including scheduling presenters, presenting if needed and updating new hire orientation materials.
  • Enters new hire information into the HRIS and LMS systems.
  • Organizes and maintains personnel and recruiting files.
  • Manages Diversity and Inclusion Program including annual events for the entire company.
  • Attends high school and college career fairs to promote and support the Diversity and Inclusion Program.
  • Participates in all exit interviews for the related areas.
  • Assists in monitoring and tracking data for EEO reports and the PSGC Diversity and Inclusion Program.
  • Assists with HR Compliance audits (internal and external).
  • Assists in resolving employee complaints, policy violations and proactively ensures compliance of the company’s policies and procedures with local, state and federal regulations.
  • Monitor and edit time records, including providing support and training to supervisors, to ensure all Payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely.
  • Perform miscellaneous duties as required to support all functions of the Human Resource Department.

Qualification Requirements

Education/Experience

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field is required.
  • Three or more years’ of experience in Human Resources in an industrial environment is required.
  • Experience with high-volume Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), Learning Management Systems (LMS) and HRIS and timekeeping systems are preferred.
  • Prior experience promoting Diversity and Inclusion programs is preferred.

 

Certification/Licensure

 

  • SHRM professional designations desirable.

 

Knowledge of

 

  • Recruiting laws and regulations.
  • Use of the internet for sourcing and other recruiting purposes.
  • Knowledge of the Wage and Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
  • Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word applications.
  • Must have a working knowledge of the Human Resources Information Systems.
