Human Resource Generalist

Precision Opinion is seeking an experienced Human Resource Generalist with a minimum of 5 years’ experience.  This position is responsible for managing the day-to-day human resource functions including employee relations, HR compliance, record-keeping, policy review and development and implementation, performance management, affirmative action and employment law compliance.

The ideal candidate for this position is a team player, highly organized and detail-oriented, possesses outstanding interpersonal skills, and has a passion for human resources.  Candidates must have excellent computer skills, effective oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal and coaching skills, and the ability to work with various departments and foster teamwork. This position will report to the President.

 

 Major Responsibilities

 

  • Administer day-to-day activities pertaining to employee relations, handling grievances, and overall management of the Human Resources Department function(s).
  • Collaboration on employee relations practices necessary to establish a positive employer-employee relationship and promote a high level of employee morale and retention.
  • Provide day-to-day advice and assistance to management on employee related matters.
  • Provide HR solutions support, process knowledge advice and consultation to employees.
  • Manage employee review feedback and prepare monthly reports for senior management.
  • Manage Human Resource policies, procedures, handbook and administration for a large employee base.
  • Develop and maintain affirmative action programs and maintains other records, reports and logs to conform to all state and/or federal regulations.
  • Improve manager and employee performance by identifying and clarifying problems; evaluating potential solutions; implementing selected solution; coaching and counseling managers and employees.
  • Maintain employee personnel files and other departmental files in an organized, secure and confidential manner.
  • Assist in coordinating and implementing company sponsored events and employee recognition programs.
  • Conduct investigations when employee complaints or concerns are brought forth and provide recommendation(s) for resolution.
  • Oversee disciplinary actions and termination processing.
  • Monitoring of organization’s culture to attain company goals and promote employee satisfaction.
  • Manage Workers Compensation program including claim management.
  • Respond to EEOC, state and federal labor department inquiries and complaints in collaboration with legal team
  • Maintain required local, state, federal and departmental records, postings and reports including I-9, EEOC, FMLA and OSHA record keeping requirements
  • Manage employee leaves, including; FLSA (Fair Labor Standards Act), FMLA (Family Medical Leave Act), PDA, Personal, Worker’s Compensation.
  • Maintain OSHA (Occupational Safety & Health Administration) Requirements.
  • Manage benefits and ACA requirements and reporting.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Experience & Requirements: 

  • 5 years previous HR experience required.
  • SHRM-CP or HRCI-PHR certification preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field.
  • Unquestionable Integrity and ability to work in a highly confidential environment.
  • Background in either a call center or a company with a large employee base - a huge plus.
  • Strong working knowledge and understanding of state and federal employment laws and practices.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and strengthen relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Dedication to keeping up to date with latest HR trends and best practices.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong decision-making and conflict-management skills.
  • Proficient Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to prepare effective reports and presentations.
  • Ability to deal effectively with a diversity of individuals at all organizational levels.
  • Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions.
  • Creative, flexible, and innovative team player.
