Job Summary/Basic Function:
Provide temporary coverage for the Director of Human Resources by providing support for the Exempt employee group and Employee Wellness Program at Everett Community College

1. Provide hiring managers with advice and assistance in developing job descriptions, recruiting, hiring, and onboarding employees
2. Conduct reference checks and provide summary of results to hiring managers
3. Prepare and issue employment contracts and payroll forms
4. Advise managers regarding issues related to equity and diversity in employment.
5. Administer and support employee leave requests
6. Provide support for the ctcLink implementation project, such as documenting current work flow processes
7. Resolve staff conflicts and promote good team work practices
8. Represent the College at job fairs and other recruiting events
9. Ensure compliance with state and federal laws
10. Ensure union contract compliance
11. Oversee the Wellness Program and supervise the part time Wellness Coordinator

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Human Resources or a related field
Knowledge of basic employment laws and practices
Professional level oral and written communication skills
Demonstrated ability to incorporate technology in providing human resources services to staff
Demonstrated ability to collaborate successfully with all work groups
Strong attention to detail; able to consistently produce an accurate work product in a fast-paced environment with multiple interruptions under deadlines
Proven cultural competency
Successful experience promoting diversity in the workplace
Evidence of sensitivity to and understanding of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability and ethnic backgrounds of community college staff and students

Preferred Qualifications:
Masters degree in Human Resources or a related field
Experience managing the human resources function in a union environment

Work Hours: Typical work hours are 8 am 5 pm Monday Friday with occasional night and weekend hours.Summer hours are 7 am 6 pm Monday Thursday
