Human Resource Administrator


Position Reports to:                Controller   

Positions Supervised:              None


Nature and Scope:           

  1. This is an exempt position. This position will be responsible for Club and employee compliance, employee communications, ongoing employee training, and other similar duties as they arise.
  2. This position will also be responsible for hiring, background checks, and interviewing.
  3. This position is also an ambassador and “face of the Club”.



  • Prior HR experience or equivalency via education
  • Be an organized worker with the ability to multi-task
  • Ability to communicate in a professional and friendly manner


  1. This position requires work Monday through Friday with occasional weekend hours based on needs. The Club reserves the right to change this schedule in order to meet the changing needs of the members.


Essential Functions and Basic Duties:      

1. Establish employment recruitment program

  • Online applicant platforms
  • Community contacts
  • Peer and industry associations
  • Annual job fairs
  • Continue to seek new platforms


2. Complete hiring process of new employees

  • Advertise for the position when Manager informs you of an opening
  • Screen applicants by the qualifications set forth in the job descriptions
  • Set up interviews with applicants
  • Complete reference checks/personality profile test administration
  • Offer letter and new hire paperwork
  • Drug testing and background investigation
  • Clock registration


3. Complete onboarding of new employees  

  • Meet with new employee to review basic employee orientation i.e. clocking in, parking, entering the building, etc.
  • Schedule with managers for new employees to attend
  • Keep onboarding sessions as an ongoing monthly meeting to ensure all new employees attend in a timely manner

 4. Employee Benefits

  • Work with the Payroll Manager to ensure benefits are offered to qualified employees at proper times
  • Help with scheduling and facilitating annual insurance meetings
  • Open enrollment


5. Ongoing training

  • Schedule annual anti-harassment trainings for management
  • Schedule and maintain ongoing human resource related issue classes or professional development classes any of which may be conducted via classroom style, one-on-one, or web-based applications


6. Have a working knowledge of Tennessee Drugfree Workplace Program

  • Ongoing Supervisor/employee training
  • Annual re-enrollment in program and adherence to program rules


7. Assist with monthly employee newsletter and other communications as deemed appropriate by the Club Controller

  • Experience with Microsoft products, including: Excel, Word, and Publisher


8. Report any accidents and follow up with the insurance company


9. Be the in-house expert related to Human Resource compliance and assist management with decision making associated with any HR issues

  • Work with department managers and supervisors to help create ways to improve the work environment, including but not limited to, employee safety and morale


10. Be an ambassador for the club creating a warm and inviting environment for potential and existing employees.
