To provide administrative, and supervisory support and knowledge in the following areas:  recruiting and staffing, compensation, benefits, training, and development, employee relations, management of employee personnel and medical files and assist in health and safety. To supervisor janitorial staff and coordinate temporary hiring with staff and vendors. To help the Human Resources Manager create a productive and effective work environment.

  • Recruits applicants for nonexempt-level positions via various recruitment sources.
  • Interviews and screens all applicants for nonexempt positions; refers qualified candidates to appropriate department manager/supervisor.
  • Assists department manager/supervisor with hiring decisions.
  • Performs reference checks on potential employees, by telephone and in writing.
  • Processes new employees in terms of payroll and benefits; informs new employees of all pertinent information.
  • Assists in the implementation of policies and procedures; may explain or interpret certain policies as required.
  • Is responsible for the orderly and systematic maintenance of all employee records and files.
  • Assists in the maintenance of up-to-date job descriptions of positions throughout the company.
  • Responsible for accurate and timely processing of all termination-related paperwork including trust accounts, final check and separation notice. 
  • Counsel affected employees on the garnishment process and coordinate processing of documents with Corporate HR and UltiPro.
  • Responsible for the audit and entry function for all hourly and salaried non-exempt timecards.
  • Prepare month-end journal entries for all general deductions (i.e. uniforms, safety apparel, fitness, etc.). 
  • Responsible for coordination and resolution of benefits/compensation questions/problems.
  • Prepare paperwork and enter all on-time deductions, payroll adjustments and vacation buy-backs.
  • Maintain physical files on payroll, timecards, personnel, medical, safety, general HR files, credit union, uniforms, journal entries, individual garnishments, resumes’/applications. 
  • Sole responsibility for accurate and timely employee personal data entries into HRIS (Success Factors) system.
  • Advises managers/supervisors of employee performance review schedule; follow up on delinquent or inconsistent reviews.
  • Conducts new hire orientation, develops and conducts training to instruct establishment managers, supervisors and workers in human relations skills.
  • Process educational reimbursement requests.
  • Schedules individuals for technical job-related skills training to improve individual work performance.
  • Prepare and keep current all EEO Logs.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.
 
 

 

 

 

Requirements

·          Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent education and experience in business administration, human resources management, or similar discipline.

·          Minimum of 1-2 years exempt level human resources experience.

·          Human resources experience in a manufacturing environment strongly desired. 

·          Superior verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with all levels of the organization.

·          Must possess high proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and HRIS; Success Factors proficiency a plus.

·          Ability to organize and plan work in advance, deciding on the most efficient or convenient manner in which to accomplish assigned tasks or projects simultaneously. 

·          Exercises good judgment and maintains confidentiality.

·          To successfully manage one’s own time to maximum advantage on a day-to-day basis.

·          Ability to be depended on to report to work as scheduled and is seldom absent; completes work in an accurate, thorough and timely manner.

·          Initiative orientated; able to independently perform job functions with minimal supervision.

·          Works and communicates effectively with others at varied levels within and outside the organization. 

·          Exhibits a professional manner in dealing with others and works to maintain constructive working relationships.

·          Strong knowledge and understanding of insurance regulations, plan designs and third party record keeping and administration.  Familiarity with COBRA, ERISA, FMLA and related state and federal regulations required.
