Position: HR Business Partner

FLSA: Exempt

Location: Washington, DC

Reports to: Human Resources Director

Clearance Requirement: Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and able to pass government client’s background and security check processes. 

Position Summary We are looking for a Human Resources Business Partner to support the HR function. The individual in this position is responsible for supporting the following functional areas: Onboarding/Offboarding Employees, Benefits Administration, Performance Administration, Compliance Reporting, and Metric Reporting & Analysis.


• Performs full-cycle benefits administration, including data entry and QA, claims resolution, change reporting, reviewing invoices for accuracy and submission for approval, and benefits communication with staff.

• Responsible for all aspects of on-boarding & off-boarding administration including collecting new employee paperwork, conducting orientations, and conducting exit interviews.

• Assists in development and maintenance of affirmative action program; files EEO-1 report annually; and maintains other records, reports and logs to conform to EEO regulations.

• Responsible for all employee records and maintenance to including maintaining the Human Resources Information System and compiling HR reports as needed to address Firm requirements.

• Administers the compensation program; monitors the performance evaluation program and advises as necessary.

• Maintains human resource plans and procedures for all organization personnel; supports with the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains the employee handbook and the policies and procedures manual.

• Ensures compliance with federal, state and local employment and benefits laws and regulations.

• Responsible for aligning business objectives with employees and management.

• Consults with line management, providing HR guidance.

• Analyzes trends and metrics to develop solutions, programs and policies.

• Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).

• Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.

• Identifies training needs for business units and individual coaching needs; participates in the evaluation and monitoring of training programs to ensure success



• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business or a Related Field

• Requires 5+ years of general HR experience preferably in a government contractor environment

• Demonstrated ability to multi-task, internally driven to meet organizational goals with often quick deadlines

• Solid understanding of government clearances required

• Possesses excellent oral and written communication skills and proven interpersonal skills

• Proficiency with MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

• Proficiency with Deltek and ADP is preferred

Supervisory Skills:
May have supervisory requirements
SPHR, PHR or SHRM-SCP or SHRM-CP preferred
